What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Audi A4?

At 58.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with accident records. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on condition, signs of prior repair, and how well the car’s premium features are working. Because this model is positioned as a used luxury sedan, you’ll want to pay close attention to overall wear, not just mileage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Audi A4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 713 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.38% compared with last year.

What is the 2016 Audi A4's resale value?

The current average of $11,494 sits slightly below last year's $11,775.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. If you plan to resell later, the current trend means your upside may depend more on choosing a clean, well-kept example than on expecting appreciation. A car that is priced right today can still hold appeal if it remains in strong condition and is presented well when you sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Audi A4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.38% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $13,274, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $11,494 average.
• The 2017 brings a full redesign with a more modern, forward-looking feel.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2016 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid satisfaction and a decent share of deal listings. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer-feeling car, the 2017 is the better secondary path.
