Why it stands out
The 2016 Acura MDX continues to be a popular choice among luxury SUV buyers, primarily thanks to its blend of safety, athleticism, and refinement. Notably, the MDX has earned high marks in safety, achieving a 5-star crash-test rating from the federal government across all assessments and a Top Safety Pick rating from the IIHS. This reputation for safety is reinforced by advanced features available in packages like AcuraWatch Plus, which includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, and lane-keeping assistance.
Despite some criticism regarding the new 9-speed automatic transmission, which may detract from the driving experience, many drivers still find the MDX a fantastic vehicle to drive, especially with its robust 290-horsepower V6 engine. The interior is spacious and comfortable, equipped with high-quality materials that provide a luxurious feel, although some users have found the dual-screen infotainment system somewhat confusing.
Overall, the 2016 MDX stands out thanks to its solid performance, exceptional safety features, and a reputation for reliability, making it a compelling choice for families in search of a luxury crossover.

I chose this specific trim (Elite model) for comfort and well… the wide screen entertainment system for my younger kids. For a 8 year old car it drives amazingly. I have driven Hondas, Toyotas Fords but this might be the best I have owned.
