Used 2015 Volvo S60 for Sale near Illinois

How much does the 2015 Volvo S60 cost?

Prices have softened 9.74% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 284 listings available, which gives you a modest pool to compare against.

Is the 2015 Volvo S60 a good car?

Generally — you’re looking at a 4/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Technology and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the safety features, fuel economy, driving comfort, and luxury feel. The S60 also stands out as a distinctive alternative in the premium-sedan segment, especially if you want something that doesn’t blend in.

With its updated 2015.5 changes and Drive-E engines, the S60 feels more current than many rivals, and that freshness helps it stay relevant for shoppers who value style and substance together.

32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there’s still room to find a strong value if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Volvo S60 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to reliability, dependability, and a car that many owners feel good about keeping over time. The expert evaluation also describes the S60 as a model where most of the bugs have likely been worked out, though the newer powertrains remain the main wildcard.

The car’s solid chassis and strong safety reputation add confidence, and the maintenance perk of the first scheduled maintenance visit being on the house helps early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well, especially given the caution around engine reliability in earlier models.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Volvo S60?

At 66.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had any prior damage or repair work. Focus on how the car presents mechanically and cosmetically, since condition matters more when you’re shopping a premium sedan with a mixed pool of listings.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S60 range includes the T5 Drive-E FWD, T5 AWD, T6 Drive-E FWD, T6 R-Design AWD, plus Premier and Platinum equipment levels. The base setup is the starting point, while higher trims add more equipment, and the R-Design brings exterior enhancements, a Sport chassis, and interior upgrades.
• Powertrain: You get new Drive-E engines in front-wheel-drive versions, while all-wheel-drive versions continue with proven 5- and 6-cylinder powertrains. The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine is smooth and efficient, and the stronger T6 versions add more punch if you want extra performance.
• Safety package: Standard City Safety is joined by Dynamic Stability and Traction Control, Advanced Stability Control, Corner Traction Control, and Sport Mode. Available upgrades include Blind-Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert, Collision Warning with Full Auto Brake, and Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection.
• Infotainment: The standard Sensus Connect system uses a 7-inch screen, and Volvo On Call is standard with a WiFi hotspot. The system supports apps and can be paired with smartphone devices through Bluetooth.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine is rated at 25 mpg city/37 highway, while the T6 R-Design AWD is rated at 19/28.

Which 2015 Volvo S60 trim should I buy?

The 2015 Volvo S60 is offered in 4 trim levels: T5 Drive-E FWD, T5 AWD, T6 Drive-E FWD, T6 R-Design AWD.

Here's the short version:

• T5 Drive-E FWD: This is the best-value starting point if you want the newest engine, strong fuel economy, and the cleanest entry into the lineup without paying for extra performance hardware.
• T5 AWD: Choose this if you want the security of all-wheel drive and prefer the proven 5-cylinder setup over the new Drive-E engine.
• T6 Drive-E FWD: This is the pick if you want the stronger turbocharged-and-supercharged engine and more straight-line performance without moving all the way to the sportier top trim.
• T6 R-Design AWD: This is the most performance-focused choice, with the most power, a Sport chassis, and the most aggressive appearance and interior upgrades.

Premier and Platinum add more equipment, and the Platinum trim can bring run-flat tires and other loaded-content upgrades.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Volvo S60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 284 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.74% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 66.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,035, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Volvo S60's resale value?

The current average of $9,059 sits slightly below last year's $10,036.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale gains may be harder to realize unless the car is especially clean, well maintained, and attractively equipped.

Because the model still has strong owner satisfaction and a distinctive premium-sedan identity, demand should remain steady among shoppers who want something different from the usual German choices.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Volvo S60 safe?

The 2015 Volvo S60 earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety suite includes City Safety, Dynamic Stability and Traction Control, Advanced Stability Control, Corner Traction Control, and Sport Mode. Available driver-assistance features include Blind-Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert, Collision Warning with Full Auto Brake, and Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection.

That combination makes the S60 especially appealing if safety is a top priority, though some of the more advanced features are not standard on every trim.

Should I buy a 2015 Volvo S60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.74% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2015.5 update and Drive-E engines give this year a fresher feel and better relevance than earlier versions.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $8,114, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $9,059 average.
• It offers a distinctive mix of style, performance, and comfort with a strong safety reputation.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of this generation with strong safety, good tech, and a softer market price, the 2015 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2014 is the more budget-friendly alternative and still delivers the S60’s core appeal.
