Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Volkswagen Passat?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 786 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.36% compared with last year.

What is the 2015 Volkswagen Passat's resale value?

The current average of $8,096 sits slightly below last year's $8,465.

That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if the market stays steady. If you plan to sell later, condition and documentation will matter more because buyers will likely remain price sensitive. A well-kept example should still hold appeal, especially if it stands out on maintenance and presentation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2015 Volkswagen Passat or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $7,710, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $8,096 average.
• It emphasizes space, comfort, and everyday usability.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $9,256, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $8,096 average.
• It offers a practical, value-focused midsize-sedan experience.

The bottom line: The 2015 is the best fit if you want a balanced mix of price, owner satisfaction, and available inventory. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2014 is the smarter value play, while the 2016 makes sense only if you’re willing to pay more for a newer example.
