How much does the 2015 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 2,047 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Toyota RAV4 earns a 4.88/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, spaciousness, and fuel economy, and they also call out its good handling and comfortable ride. That lines up with the RAV4’s practical use case: you want a compact crossover that is easy to live with, useful for city and highway driving, and not overly demanding to own. The market also shows 32.9% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback repeatedly points to reliability, dependability, and trouble-free ownership, with many drivers describing it as a vehicle they can count on. The expert evaluation also says trouble is unlikely and notes strong dependability and quality ratings from major consumer sources. On top of that, the first 2 years or 25,000 miles of scheduled maintenance are covered, which helps reduce early ownership friction.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about mechanical drama and more about finding a well-kept example that has been maintained consistently.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota RAV4?

At 52.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the cabin and electronics still feel clean and functional. Because this model is valued for practicality and low ownership stress, condition matters a lot when you’re comparing similar-priced examples.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LE, XLE, and Limited each build on the same practical foundation, but the base trim is the one most likely to feel sparse if you want more convenience and tech. The cabin is described as simple and handsome, with quality materials up top and harder plastics lower down, so higher trims are the better fit if you want a more polished feel.
• Powertrain: Every RAV4 uses a 176-hp, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with a 6-speed automatic. It is peppy and refined, but it can feel a bit underpowered from a stop, so you should expect adequate rather than brisk acceleration.
• Safety package: Every version gets a rear-view camera. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning are tied to the optional Technology Package on the Limited trim, while active cruise control and active braking are unavailable.
• Infotainment: The available Entune setup uses a 6.1-inch touchscreen and includes smartphone-app features, but the interface can be frustrating to use. The system does not stand out as a strength, so test it carefully if tech matters to you.
• Fuel efficiency: The RAV4 is rated at 25 mpg combined, and the test vehicle returned 26 mpg in mixed highway-heavy driving.

Which 2015 Toyota RAV4 trim should I buy?

The 2015 Toyota RAV4 is offered in 3 trim levels: LE, XLE, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the trim to consider if you want the lowest entry point into the RAV4 lineup and care most about basic utility. It gives you the core RAV4 formula without paying for extras you may not need.
• XLE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a more appealing mix of comfort and convenience without pushing you all the way to the top. The test vehicle was an XLE with optional all-wheel drive and navigation, which shows how well this trim can be tailored if you want more than the basics.
• Limited: Choose this if you want the most equipment and are willing to pay for it. It is also the only trim that can get the optional Technology Package, which brings blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning.

If safety tech matters most, the Limited is the trim to target because that’s where the extra driver-assistance features live.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Toyota RAV4?

The market looks moderate, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,047 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 52.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,928, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $14,794 sits slightly above last year's $14,654.

That small increase suggests the RAV4 has held its value reasonably well rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that kind of stability is helpful because it points to steady buyer interest and a market that is not punishing the model year. Its practical reputation and strong ownership satisfaction should continue to support demand when you decide to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 safe?

The 2015 RAV4 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with a three-star protection rating for the front passenger in the frontal-impact assessment.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Every version gets a rear-view camera, which helps with reversing. If you want blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, or lane-departure warning, you need the optional Technology Package on the Limited trim. Active cruise control and active braking are not available, and that limits the RAV4’s advanced safety ceiling compared with some rivals.

Should I buy a 2015 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 52.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Improved crash-test ratings elevate its standing among compact crossovers.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $13,845, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $14,794 average.
• It is a practical crossover with class-leading cargo capacity and a reputation for being dependable.

The 2015 is the better pick if you want the stronger overall package and improved safety reputation, especially since pricing has stayed stable. If your priority is simply spending less up front, the 2014 is the more budget-friendly route and still delivers the core RAV4 strengths.
