Is the 2015 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Nissan Rogue earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, good fuel efficiency, spacious interior, smooth ride, and well-liked audio system. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a mainstream crossover that feels polished and easy to live with, especially if interior space and everyday comfort matter more than sporty driving. The market also shows 29.0% good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to comfort, good fuel efficiency, a spacious interior, and a smooth ride, which are the kinds of traits that usually support dependable day-to-day ownership. The expert evaluation also describes the Rogue as a mature, elegant crossover that hits most of the important targets for a competent family vehicle. Nissan’s standard safety equipment and available driver aids add to the sense that it was built to be easy to live with.

The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that the drivetrain and safety concerns can outweigh the Rogue’s strengths if you buy without careful vetting.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Nissan Rogue?

At 53.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and any signs of prior repair. Because the Rogue’s appeal depends heavily on comfort and everyday usability, you should also focus on cabin condition, seat wear, and whether the features you want are actually present on the trim you’re considering. If you’re shopping a higher-mileage example, pay extra attention to how the drivetrain feels on a test drive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base S models include keyless entry, LED running lights, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a 5-inch display with rear-view camera, and a USB interface with auxiliary audio input. The SV adds alloy wheels, roof rails, a 6-way power driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and NissanConnect, while the SL brings heated leather seats, heated mirrors, voice control, a power liftgate, a 7-inch touchscreen, navigation, and an 8-speaker Bose stereo. The base trim is the one most likely to feel feature-light if you want more convenience and tech.
• Powertrain: You get a single 2.5-liter, 170-hp four-cylinder with a continuously variable transmission, plus a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The setup is efficient enough for the class, but it is described as underpowered and noisy, especially when you ask for passing power or climb hills with passengers aboard.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes stability and traction control, 4-wheel discs, a rear-view camera, and hill-start assist. AWD adds hill-descent control. The Premium Package adds blind-spot, lane-departure, forward-collision warning, and moving-object detection, and the SL also gets auto-leveling LED headlights with that package.
• Infotainment: Base models use a 5-inch display, while the SL gets a 7-inch touchscreen. Bluetooth, a USB interface, and auxiliary audio input are included, and NissanConnect is added on the SV. The Around View camera system is available on the SV and included on the SL.
• Fuel efficiency: The AWD Rogue is rated at 25 mpg city, 32 highway, and 28 combined.

Which 2015 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2015 Nissan Rogue is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, SL.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry price and can live with the simpler feature set. It still gives you keyless entry, LED running lights, a rear-view camera, and the basic infotainment setup, and it can be equipped with the optional third row.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the most useful everyday upgrades without pushing you all the way to the top. You get alloy wheels, roof rails, a power driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, NissanConnect, and access to the Around View camera and third-row option.
• SL: Choose this if you want the most comfort and convenience features, including heated leather seats, heated mirrors, a power liftgate, navigation, the 7-inch touchscreen, and the Bose audio system. It is also the only trim that is not available with the third row.

If you want the most safety tech, look for the Premium Package on the SV or SL, since that adds the key driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Nissan Rogue?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,068 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.58% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 53.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,418, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $9,418 sits slightly below last year's $9,768.

That softer pricing suggests the Rogue has already absorbed some of its depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. If you purchase near the lower end of the range and keep the vehicle in clean condition, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss later. The market also appears to reward well-kept examples, especially when they have the features shoppers want.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Nissan Rogue safe?

The 2015 Nissan Rogue earns an overall four-star rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in side crashes, four-star ratings in rollover, and three-star and two-star ratings in frontal crash tests for the driver and passenger, respectively.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes stability and traction control, 4-wheel discs, a rear-view camera, and hill-start assist, with hill-descent control added on AWD models. If you want more protection tech, the Premium Package adds blind-spot warning, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, and moving-object detection. The safety caveat here is the weak frontal-crash performance, which is the main reason you should be cautious and verify the exact equipment on any used example.

Should I buy a 2015 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.58% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 keeps the redesigned Rogue’s more polished look and mature crossover feel.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $8,774, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $9,418 average.
• It offers a practical, value-focused crossover with strong everyday usefulness.

The bottom line: If you want the newer model-year pricing context and a more polished design, the 2015 is the better primary target. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2014 is the more budget-friendly path.

How does the 2015 Nissan Rogue compare to the 2015 Honda CR-V?

Our experts score the 2015 Nissan Rogue 6.5/10 and the 2015 Honda CR-V 8.5/10. The Rogue gives you a lower average used price and a more affordable entry point, while the CR-V brings stronger overall expert approval and better efficiency. If you want the cheaper buy, the Rogue has the edge; if you want the more well-rounded choice, the CR-V is the stronger pick.
