How much does the 2015 Lexus ES cost?

Prices have softened 1.26% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 544 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Lexus ES a good car?

Generally — the 2015 Lexus ES earns a 4.3/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal for comfort-focused luxury shoppers. It is described as a plush, comfortable luxury sedan with premium interior materials and great ride quality, and it also brings a more engaging driving feel than many buyers might expect.

The trade-offs are clear: it is not a sport sedan, and it is called poor value for money. That means you should view it as a refined, upscale daily driver rather than a performance pick. If you want a calm, comfortable luxury sedan with a strong emphasis on refinement, this model year fits that use case well.

35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 Lexus ES reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2015 Lexus ES is described as having the kind of reliability the brand is known for, and the expert review reinforces that with language about bulletproof reliability and quality long-term dependability.

Its 3.5-liter V6 and 6-speed automatic are presented as refined and well matched, and the car is tuned for composed, peaceful driving rather than hard use. The ownership picture is also helped by the note that it makes sense for buyers who keep a car for a long time.

If you plan to own one used, the main long-term risk is paying luxury-car maintenance and ownership costs without getting a corresponding value advantage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Lexus ES?

At 46.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car is priced near the top of the market. Focus on condition, equipment completeness, and whether the car has the safety and convenience features you want, since some desirable items were optional. If you are comparing multiple listings, the cleanest example with the best service history is usually worth the extra effort.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The ES 350 is the core gas model, and the review notes that some desirable equipment was missing on the test car, including leather, a premium audio system, a panoramic sunroof, sunshades, automatic high beams, rain-sensing wipers, a power-closing trunk, blind-spot warning, lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. That makes feature-by-feature comparison especially important.
• Powertrain: The 3.5-liter V6 is described as refined and lively, with a 6-speed automatic that quickly chooses the correct gear. It is tuned for smooth, composed driving rather than sporty performance.
• Safety package: Lexus offers Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with a Pre-Collision System, while the test car also had a standard reversing camera and optional front and rear parking sensors. Blind-spot warning, cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning were not fitted on the test car.
• Infotainment: Lexus Enform App Suite uses the display screen with smartphone connectivity, voice recognition, and a mouse-style controller. The system also includes Enform Destinations and the Enform Remote app for remote start, fuel checks, and vehicle location.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review reports 22.1 mpg in real-world driving and cites an EPA-estimated 24 mpg combined.

Which 2015 Lexus ES trim should I buy?

The 2015 Lexus ES is offered in 1 trim level: ES 350.

Here's the short version:

The ES 350 is the trim to focus on if you want the standard gas model’s comfort-first luxury experience. It delivers the refined V6, smooth automatic transmission, and the upscale ride quality that define this car, while the review also shows that many desirable features were optional rather than standard. If you want the best value, look for a well-equipped ES 350 with the safety and convenience features you care about already installed.

The safety package includes Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with a Pre-Collision System, but the test car lacked several other driver-assistance features that luxury shoppers may expect.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Lexus ES?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 544 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.26% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 46.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,814, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Lexus ES's resale value?

The current average of $16,492 sits slightly below last year's $16,702.

That modest decline suggests the market has softened a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the current pricing trend points to a model that is holding value reasonably well rather than appreciating. The fact that demand is still supported by a broad pool of shoppers should help keep resale interest steady.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Lexus ES safe?

The Lexus ES earns a five-star overall crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) had not yet officially rated the 2015 model at the time of the review.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus offers Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with a Pre-Collision System, and the review also notes a standard reversing camera plus optional front and rear parking sensors. The test car did not have blind-spot warning, cross-traffic alert, or lane-departure warning, so you should check carefully for the safety equipment you want on any used listing.

Should I buy a 2015 Lexus ES or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 46.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.26% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It emphasizes plush comfort, upscale appointments, and a more engaging drive than many luxury shoppers expect.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $15,019, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $16,492 average.
• It balances comfort, spaciousness, and a responsive drive.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $19,694, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $16,492 average.
• It adds a fresher look and a quieter, more value-oriented luxury experience.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price and the 2015 model’s comfort-first character, this year is the primary target. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2014 is the lower-cost alternative worth considering.
