Summary

Why it stands out
The 2015 Kia Soul stands out because it delivers a lot of what most drivers need while still feeling distinctive and full of personality. It is described as a pretty terrific little thingamabob on wheels, and that sense of character is part of its appeal. The Soul also brings surprise-and-delight upgrades that many buyers may want, along with the technology, safety ratings, and quality scores that help it move from good to great.
At the same time, it is not presented as perfect. More power would be nice, and additional trunk space and a couple of extra safety features are also mentioned as desirable improvements. Even so, those are framed as nitpicks against a car that is loaded with value and broadly well equipped, which makes the 2015 Kia Soul appealing to shoppers who want something practical without giving up personality.

Super smooth ride, responsive steering, seats great for back problems, large interior and cool edgy look! I purchased the 2015 Kia Soul + and so far the only down sides are rear passenger side blind spot, and not quick to accelerate. Best purchase Ive ever made! Truly an amazing car!

How much does the 2015 Kia Soul cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $7,813 |
| Year-Round Low | $7,622 |
| Year-Round High | $8,369 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $8,116 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −3.73% |
Prices have softened 3.73% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 1,187 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.
Is the 2015 Kia Soul a good car?
Generally — the 2015 Kia Soul earns a 4.36/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal for used-car shoppers. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.
Owners most often praise its spacious interior, comfort, and value for money, and they also call out good fuel economy and a fun driving experience. The overview frames it as a practical choice that still brings personality, surprise-and-delight features, and strong technology and safety credentials.
With 30.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.
Is the 2015 Kia Soul reliable?
Owners rate it 4.36/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
Owner feedback highlights dependable everyday use, with praise for comfort, value, and fuel economy, plus a driving experience that feels enjoyable rather than merely functional. The expert notes also point to dependable ownership appeal through strong value, quality recognition, and low-cost ownership advantages.
The cost-effectiveness notes add that Kia’s warranty and roadside assistance support the ownership case, and the model’s free UVO eServices system helps reduce ongoing tech-related costs.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that lower-powered versions may leave you wanting more performance, so test-drive the exact car you plan to buy.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Kia Soul?
At 56.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the car’s equipment matches what you expect from the trim and options. Because this model is often bought for value, comfort, and personality, you want to make sure the specific car still delivers those strengths in real-world condition.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The loaded test vehicle included leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, an 8-inch touchscreen, navigation, premium audio, LED interior lighting, HID headlights, LED running lights, Smart Key entry, push-button start, a heated steering wheel, heated front and rear seats, and ventilated front seats. The base car is described as much more stripped down, so feature gaps can be substantial.

Which 2015 Kia Soul trim should I buy?
The 2015 Kia Soul is offered in 1 trim level: !.
Here's the short version:
The ! trim is the one explicitly described in the test-drive material, and it is the fully loaded version with the most visible comfort, tech, and convenience upgrades. If you want the Soul’s personality plus the richest feature set, this is the trim that best shows what the model can do.
The safety package note is important here: the Soul includes a reversing camera, but it does not offer modern active safety features such as blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Kia Soul?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.
- Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,187 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.73% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 56.4% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $7,622, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Kia Soul's resale value?
The current average of $7,813 sits slightly below last year's $8,116.
That softer pricing suggests the model is still accessible on the used market, which can help future resale by keeping demand broad. If you buy well and maintain the car carefully, you may have a better chance of preserving value than if you overpay at the start. The year’s strong value reputation also helps support buyer interest over time.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.36/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Kia Soul safe?
The 2015 Kia Soul earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS, with a Good result in the small overlap frontal-impact test.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
The Soul’s safety tech centers on UVO eServices, including 911 Connect with Crash Notification, which can automatically alert emergency responders after a collision. It also adds Speed Alert, Curfew Alert, Geo Fence, and Driving Score features aimed at helping parents monitor teen drivers.
The main caveat is that the Soul lacks modern active safety features such as blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, aside from a reversing camera. That means the crash ratings are strong, but the driver-assistance roster is thinner than what you may find in newer used vehicles.
Should I buy a 2015 Kia Soul or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 56.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.73% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.36/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- The 2015 stands out for its value-rich mix of personality, tech, and safety ratings.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $6,924, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $7,813 average.
- It blends everyday usefulness with strong personality and tech appeal.
The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around package, the 2015 is the better primary target because it combines value, satisfaction, and a well-equipped feel. If your budget is tighter, the 2014 is the sensible fallback, especially if you find one in clean condition and at a meaningfully lower price.
