How much does the 2015 Kia Sorento cost?

Prices have softened 7.96% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 919 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2015 Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Kia Sorento earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 6.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 8/10. Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, smooth ride, and reliable performance, and the Sorento’s appeal is strongest if you want a polished crossover with lots of equipment for the money. Its well-equipped, fair-priced positioning makes sense if you value style and features over class-leading efficiency. Good and great deals account for 30.1% of listings, so there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2015 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. In owner feedback, the Sorento is repeatedly described as reliable, and drivers also highlight its dependable, trouble-free feel over time. The driving impressions reinforce that sense of durability with smooth, composed everyday behavior and confident traction on slippery surfaces. Kia also backs the model with a terrific warranty and roadside-assistance plan, which helps reduce ownership anxiety. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that some examples may have been used hard or may not match the advertised equipment, so condition and documentation matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Kia Sorento?

At 60.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on body condition, repair quality, and whether the equipment matches the listing, since some owners have reported missing advertised features. If you’re comparing multiple examples, give extra weight to maintenance records and signs of careful use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sorento LX is the base setup, while EX adds a V6, larger wheels, LED running lights, fog lights, roof rails, rear parking-assist sensors, leather upholstery, a power driver’s seat, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear side-window sunshades, UVO eServices, keyless engine start, a reversing camera, and blind-spot detection. SX adds 19-inch wheels, power folding side mirrors, a power tailgate, LED taillights, navigation, a premium audio system, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, rear air conditioning, and a 115-volt power outlet. SX Limited adds chrome wheels, Xenon headlights, premium Nappa leather, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel.
• Powertrain: A 4-cylinder engine comes standard on LX, while a V6 is optional on LX and standard on the other trims. The V6 is paired with a 6-speed automatic, and front-wheel drive is standard with all-wheel drive available.
• Safety package: A reversing camera and rear parking-assist sensors are standard on EX models, while blind-spot detection is included on SX and Limited trims. The UVO eServices system also adds 911 Connect with Crash Notification Assist.
• Infotainment: UVO is the key infotainment system, and it supports voice commands, smartphone syncing, navigation input from your phone, and eServices features. The system is described as responsive and intuitive.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 returns about 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway, and the test vehicle averaged 18.1 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2015 Kia Sorento trim should I buy?

The 2015 Kia Sorento is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, EX, SX and SX Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the Sorento’s core space and style at the lowest starting point. It comes with the standard 4-cylinder engine, while the V6 is optional.
• EX: This is the best-value trim because it adds the V6 plus a long list of comfort and convenience upgrades, including leather upholstery, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, UVO eServices, a reversing camera, and blind-spot detection.
• SX: Choose this if you want the more upscale equipment set, including navigation, a premium audio system, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, rear air conditioning, and a power tailgate.
• SX Limited: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with premium Nappa leather, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, chrome wheels, and Xenon headlights.

Blind-spot detection is standard on SX and Limited trims, while EX gets a reversing camera and rear parking-assist sensors.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Kia Sorento?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing softness to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 919 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.96% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,268, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $8,490 sits slightly below last year's $9,224.

That decline suggests the Sorento has softened in the used market, which can be a challenge if you’re planning to sell soon. A lower current average price means buyers have more leverage, so resale value may depend heavily on trim, condition, and documentation. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment should still draw attention, but you should expect pricing pressure compared with last year.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Kia Sorento safe?

The 2015 Kia Sorento earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia’s named driver-assistance suite centers on UVO eServices, which includes 911 Connect with Crash Notification Assist. The safety equipment also includes a reversing camera and rear parking-assist sensors on EX models, plus blind-spot detection on SX and Limited trims. The main caveat is that the IIHS had not yet rated this model year in the source text, and the expert review notes that the Sorento does not bring the latest active-safety technology across the lineup.

Should I buy a 2015 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers a polished, well-equipped crossover feel with strong tech and fair pricing.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $7,993, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $8,490 average.
• It emphasizes style, performance, safety, and substance, though comfort is a weaker point.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $9,856, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $8,490 average.
• It brings an all-new design, a more upscale interior, and a turbocharged engine option.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price and equipment, the 2015 is the practical pick. If you’re shopping on a tighter budget, the 2014 can save you money, while the 2016 is the better choice if you want the newer redesign and can spend more.

How does the 2015 Kia Sorento compare to the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Our experts score the 2015 Kia Sorento 6.8/10 and the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe 7.3/10. The Santa Fe is the stronger overall pick, but the Sorento is the cheaper used buy and has a larger pool of listings to shop. The Sorento also offers better city fuel economy and a higher share of good or great deals, while the Santa Fe brings more power and a higher average used price. If you want value and selection, the Sorento makes sense; if you want the stronger expert-rated package, the Santa Fe has the edge.
