overall

Summary
With 387 currently listed for sale and an average price of $7,315.00, 27.6% of 2015 Kia Fortes for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Kia Forte 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.17 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2015 Kia Forte stands out as a small, affordable car that is also genuinely appealing. It combines an attractive design with a low starting price, which gives it broad appeal for buyers who want value without giving up style.
One of its biggest strengths is how much equipment it can offer if you are willing to spend more, since the car can be furnished with a wide range of goodies. Its main drawback is harder to overlook: no matter how much money you spend, its primary problem remains a lousy rating in a tough new crash test.

Reviewed a 2015 Kia Forte on Dec 15, 2021
It was the best deal and the best bang for the buck that’s why I bought it. It’s Peppy. It handles like some expensive luxury cars. I have a base model The LX. Even with a base model I think it should have had cruise control. It has no cruise control. Not sure I would’ve bought it if I realized that at the time of purchase.

How much does the 2015 Kia Forte cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $7,273 |
| Year-Round Low | $7,093.20 |
| Year-Round High | $7,952.95 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $7,809 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −6.87% |
Prices have softened 6.87% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 396 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.
If you find a listing below $7,093.20, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2015 Kia Forte a good car?
Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the expert score is 7.17/10.
The Forte’s appeal is rooted in its low starting price and the fact that it can be equipped with a wide range of features if you move up the lineup. The expert review also highlights that it can feel genuinely appealing rather than merely basic, especially when you want value without giving up style.
The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.
That makes it a smart fit if you want an affordable small car that can be loaded up with convenience and infotainment features. The market also shows 22.7% of listings as good or great deals, which supports a selective-shopping approach.
Is the 2015 Kia Forte reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Forte’s cost-effectiveness profile is helped by an industry-leading warranty, an excellent roadside assistance program, and low expected ownership costs. The expert review also notes that predicted long-term dependability is expected to be average, while value retention is also described as average.
The performance review adds that the Forte’s 4-wheel-disc brakes are standard and provide strong stopping power with well-calibrated pedal feel. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that average dependability and average resale strength can make condition and maintenance history matter more than mileage alone.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Kia Forte?
At 49.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in any collision. Focus on body condition, repair quality, and whether the car’s safety equipment and electronics work as intended.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base LX is equipped with air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, a driver’s seat height adjuster, heated side mirrors, cloth seat trim, Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, and satellite radio, while the EX adds a peppier engine, a standard automatic transmission, Flex Steer electric steering, aluminum wheels, automatic headlights, fog lights, LED running lights, power folding mirrors with LED turn-signal indicators, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, premium fabric seats, and a cooled glove box.
- Powertrain: The EX uses a 173-hp, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission, and the review notes that it is adequate around town while returning 28.1 mpg in mixed driving, with official ratings of 25 mpg city and 36 mpg highway.
- Safety package: UVO eServices and the reversing camera are the main tech-linked safety aids, but the car lacks blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert systems, and the small overlap frontal result is still only Marginal.
- Infotainment: UVO eServices brings Bluetooth music streaming, Pandora access, Parking Minder, 911 Connect, Find My Car, Curfew Limit, Speed Alert, and Geo Fence features; the system is paired with a reversing camera and can be bundled with navigation.
- Fuel efficiency: The EX is described as averaging 28.1 mpg, with official fuel economy ratings of 25 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.
Which 2015 Kia Forte trim should I buy?
The 2015 Kia Forte is offered in 2 trim levels: LX and EX.
Here's the short version:
- LX: This is the value play if you want the lowest-cost way into the Forte, and it still brings a solid equipment list with Bluetooth, a USB port, satellite radio, and the basics you need for daily use. If you want the cheapest route into the model, this is the trim to start with.
- EX: This is the best-value trim because it adds the stronger engine, standard automatic transmission, Flex Steer, aluminum wheels, automatic headlights, fog lights, LED running lights, power-folding mirrors, and a more upscale cabin. It is the trim to choose if you want the Forte to feel more complete without going all the way to heavily optioned territory.
The safety content also makes clear that the car still lacks blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert systems, so even higher trims do not fully solve that gap.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Kia Forte?
This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and some deal opportunities if you shop carefully.
- Deal availability: 22.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 396 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.87% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 49.5% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $7,093.20, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Kia Forte's resale value?
The current average of $7,273 sits slightly below last year's $7,809.
That softer pricing suggests the Forte is in a buyer-friendly phase right now, which can be good for you if you are shopping used. For a future seller, it means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained.
The model’s average value-retention outlook also suggests it is not likely to be a standout resale performer on brand strength alone. Clean history and strong equipment will matter more if you want to protect your exit price later.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Kia Forte safe?
It earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, and the IIHS small overlap frontal impact result improves from Poor to Marginal.
It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.
The Forte’s safety story is mixed. On one hand, it has top marks in the other IIHS tests and a five-star overall NHTSA result. On the other hand, the review is explicit that the car still falls short in the tough small overlap frontal test, and that remains the main reason to be cautious.
The named safety tech is limited to UVO-linked services and the reversing camera, and the car does not include blind-spot warning or rear cross-traffic alert systems. That means you should not expect a broad driver-assistance suite, even on better-equipped versions.
Should I buy a 2015 Kia Forte or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 22.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 49.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.87% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The Forte’s standout strength is its 10/10 Technology score, with UVO eServices and available navigation among the highlights.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $6,671, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $7,273 average.
- It is a more complete and competitive small car than its predecessor.
The bottom line: If you want the better-equipped and more feature-rich choice, the 2015 is the stronger pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2014 is the better value path, especially if you find one in clean condition with a solid maintenance record.
