How much does the 2015 Jeep Wrangler cost?

Prices have softened 7.42% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,835 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler a good car?

Generally — the 2015 Jeep Wrangler earns a 4.47/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise its ruggedness, off-road capability, and the fun of driving it. The removable tops and doors also come up often as a major part of the appeal, along with the Wrangler’s unique look.

For you, that means this is a strong fit if you want a vehicle with a distinctive personality and serious trail focus rather than everyday polish. The market also shows 32.9% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler reliable?

Owners rate it 4.47/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a vehicle that many owners find rugged, dependable, and enjoyable to live with over time. The summary also highlights off-road capability and the kind of ownership experience people tend to count on when they want a Wrangler for the long haul.

The expert evaluation reinforces that this model’s appeal is tied to its durable, go-anywhere character and its improved 3.6-liter V6 compared with older powerplants. If you’re buying used, the main long-term risk is that the Wrangler’s age, rough-road focus, and modification history can make condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Jeep Wrangler?

At 64.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a hands-on inspection, especially if the Wrangler has been modified for off-road use. Pay close attention to body condition, signs of rust, and whether the vehicle has been used hard on trails or fitted with larger tires.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Wrangler is offered in 3 basic trims: Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon. The Sport starts more simply, while the Sahara adds more creature comforts and the Rubicon editions bring the most off-road hardware; the base setup is the one most likely to feel sparse if you want more convenience features.
• Powertrain: All Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited models use a 3.6-liter V6 with a 6-speed manual transmission, and a 5-speed automatic is available. The V6 is described as better than previous powerplants, with stronger acceleration and more comfortable cruising than older models.
• Safety package: The Wrangler includes standard antilock disc brakes on all four wheels, electronic stability control, and traction control. Frontal-collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-departure warning indicators are not available, and supplemental front airbags are a $495 option.
• Infotainment: This year brings an upgraded sound system and an available 9-speaker Alpine setup. The Wrangler can also be fitted with navigation, and the tech story is rounded out by comfort features such as heated seats and leather.
• Fuel efficiency: The Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited manage 17 mpg city and 21 highway, according to the EPA.

Which 2015 Jeep Wrangler trim should I buy?

The 2015 Jeep Wrangler is offered in 3 trim levels: Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the simplest entry point, with 16-inch steel wheels and the core Wrangler formula. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model and plan to keep things basic.
• Sahara: This trim adds more creature comforts, including 18-inch wheels and available leather. It’s the best-value choice if you want a more livable daily driver without losing the Wrangler character.
• Rubicon: This is the off-road-focused choice, with heavy-duty skid plates, a heavy-duty transfer case, disconnecting sway bars, and Dana 44 axles front and rear. Choose it if trail capability matters more than comfort or price.

The safety content also notes that modern driver-assistance features are not available, so even higher trims do not add the kind of advanced safety tech you may find elsewhere.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Jeep Wrangler?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,835 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.42% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,261, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

The current average of $16,261 sits slightly below last year's $17,564.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer now, but it also means a future seller may face a market that has already adjusted downward. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned than someone who pays near the top of the range today.

Wranglers tend to attract steady interest because of their distinctive identity and loyal following. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.47/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler safe?

The Wrangler received a Moderate rating in small-overlap front collisions and head restraints and seats, a Poor rating in side collisions, and a Good rating in moderate-overlap front collisions from IIHS. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the Wrangler only three-star ratings in a rollover crash.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety package is basic: standard antilock disc brakes on all four wheels, electronic stability control, and traction control. More modern conveniences like frontal-collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-departure warning indicators aren’t available, and supplemental front airbags are a $495 option.

That means you should treat safety as a key tradeoff if you’re shopping this Wrangler used. If safety tech is a top priority, you’ll want to compare carefully against other SUVs before buying.

Should I buy a 2015 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.47/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 adds an upgraded sound system and fresh editions, while keeping the Wrangler’s rugged identity intact.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $15,340, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $16,261 average.
• It is a rugged icon with a strong off-road focus.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,282, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $16,261 average.
• It adds a convertible top and year-round 4WD appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, inventory, and the Wrangler’s core character, the 2015 is the sensible pick. If you’re focused mainly on saving money, the 2014 is the cheaper route; if you want to spend more for a slightly newer take on the same formula, the 2016 is the alternative to compare.
