How much does the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee cost?

Prices have softened 9.75% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,921 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee earns a 4.7/5 user rating and an 8.7/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, luxurious features, and smooth ride. They also highlight the comfortable interior, powerful performance, and advanced sound systems. In practical terms, that lines up well with an SUV that can be tailored to different needs and budgets, from everyday comfort to more capability-focused use.

The market also shows 31.3% good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise for its comfortable ride, strong performance, and overall satisfaction with the ownership experience. The expert evaluation also describes it as a capable and comfortable SUV with broad appeal, which supports the idea that it can be a solid long-term choice when maintained properly.

The ownership tradeoff is that some drivers have reported quality concerns, including electrical problems and non-warranty repairs, so a careful pre-purchase inspection matters if you want to reduce long-term risk.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

At 57.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A thorough inspection should focus on bodywork consistency, electrical operation, and signs of deferred maintenance. Because this model can be configured in many ways, you should also verify that the equipment on the listing matches the trim and options advertised.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Laredo is sparse, with minimal features, while the Laredo E opens up more options and the Altitude adds standard heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, an 8.4-inch Uconnect screen, and a power liftgate. The Limited adds a rear back-up camera, Quadra-Trac II 4WD, and Selec-Terrain, and the higher trims move further into luxury and capability.
• Powertrain: The lineup includes a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6, a 5.7-liter Hemi V8, and an SRT 6.4-liter Hemi V8. Efficiency is strongest with the EcoDiesel, which is described as the choice if you care about fuel economy, towing, or long-distance driving.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes a 3-point center rear seatbelt, active head restraints, advanced multistage front airbags, driver inflatable knee-bolster airbags, supplemental side curtain and front seat-mounted airbags, electronic stability control, 4-wheel traction control, rain brake support, ready alert braking, and trailer sway control. Higher trims add a rear back-up camera, front and rear park assist, hill-descent control, blind-spot and cross-path detection, adaptive cruise control, and forward-collision warning.
• Infotainment: The base system uses a 5-inch touchscreen with AM/FM/Bluetooth and voice command with Bluetooth. Higher trims get an 8.4-inch screen with SiriusXM, HD Radio, and navigation, plus connected services and more advanced audio options.
• Fuel efficiency: The 3.0-liter V6 is rated at 17 mpg city and 24 highway for 4WD models, while the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 is rated at 21/28. The 5.7-liter Hemi V8 is rated at 14/20, and the SRT 6.4-liter Hemi V8 is rated at 13/19.

Which 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee trim should I buy?

The 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee is offered in 8 trim levels: Laredo, Laredo E, Altitude, Limited, Overland, Summit, SRT, and SRT Red Vapor.

Here's the short version:

• Laredo: This is the entry point, but it is very basic, with minimal features and the fewest comforts. It makes sense only if you want the lowest starting price and are willing to live without much equipment.
• Laredo E: This trim is the better starting point for most shoppers because it opens the door to a wide range of useful options, including appearance, comfort, and capability packages. It is the best-value path if you want flexibility without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Altitude: This trim adds a more complete standard equipment set, including heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, an 8.4-inch Uconnect screen, and a power liftgate. It is a strong choice if you want a more polished daily driver without moving into luxury-trim pricing.
• Limited: This is where the Grand Cherokee starts to feel firmly upscale, with a rear back-up camera, Quadra-Trac II 4WD, Selec-Terrain, and access to richer luxury features. It is the trim to target if you want the best balance of comfort, capability, and equipment.
• Overland: This trim leans harder into comfort and off-road hardware, with standard heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, and the Off-Road Adventure II package. It suits you if you want a more premium feel and stronger trail capability.
• Summit: This is the fully loaded comfort-focused choice, with the broadest mix of luxury and off-road features and very few decisions left to make. It is for you if you want the most upscale Grand Cherokee experience.
• SRT: This is the performance-oriented version, with a single 6.4-liter Hemi V8 and a very well-equipped setup. It is the right pick if performance is your priority.
• SRT Red Vapor: This is the most exclusive performance trim, with unique interior trim and the same 6.4-liter Hemi V8. Choose it only if you want the SRT formula with a more distinctive appearance.

The safety package is broad, but the rear back-up camera is limited to only a few trims, so it is worth prioritizing if you want that feature.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,921 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.75% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,459, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $11,459 sits slightly below last year's $12,697.

That price movement suggests the model has softened enough to create a more buyer-friendly entry point today, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later, especially if you choose a desirable trim and keep the vehicle in strong condition.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee safe?

The 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in every category except rollover, which earned a four-star rating. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives it a Good rating in all categories except Small Overlap Front, which received a Marginal rating.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes a 3-point center rear seatbelt, active head restraints, advanced multistage front airbags, driver inflatable knee-bolster airbags, supplemental side curtain and front seat-mounted airbags, electronic stability control, 4-wheel traction control, rain brake support, ready alert braking, and trailer sway control. Higher trims add a rear back-up camera, front and rear park assist, hill-descent control, blind-spot and cross-path detection, adaptive cruise control, and forward-collision warning.

The main caveat is that the rear back-up camera is not standard across the lineup, so you may need to move up to a higher trim to get it.

Should I buy a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers a broad trim and engine range that lets you tailor comfort, capability, and price.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $10,565, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $11,459 average.
• It emphasizes refined daily drivability while still keeping strong off-road ability.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $12,921, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $11,459 average.
• It appeals to buyers who want towing, off-pavement ability, and a more distinctive Jeep image.

The bottom line: The 2015 is the best all-around pick if you want the broadest mix of value, comfort, and capability. If your budget is tighter, the 2014 is the smarter price-first alternative, while the 2016 makes sense if you want to spend more for a newer-year option.
