How much does the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee cost?

Prices have softened 9.84% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,880 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.7/5 user rating and an 8.7/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, luxurious features, smooth ride, comfortable interior, powerful performance, and advanced sound systems. That lines up with the overview’s focus on a capable, comfortable SUV with a wide range of trims and engines, so you can tailor it to your needs and budget. With 31.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market also gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people feel good about living with over time, especially because they value its comfortable interior, strong performance, and overall appeal. The expert driving notes also describe it as well-mannered and capable, which supports the sense that it’s a vehicle you can count on for everyday use and tougher conditions alike. The cost-effectiveness notes add that the warranty coverage includes a 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty, which is a useful ownership cushion.

That said, some owners mention electrical problems and non-warranty repairs, so a used example with incomplete maintenance records deserves extra scrutiny.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

At 56.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection matters here, especially if you’re comparing multiple trims or looking at higher-mileage examples. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the equipment you want is actually present, since this model’s options can vary a lot from one listing to another.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Laredo is light on features, while the Laredo E opens up more options and the Altitude adds standard heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, an 8.4-inch Uconnect screen, and a power liftgate. The Limited pushes further toward luxury with standard rear back-up camera, Quadra-Trac II 4WD, and Selec-Terrain, while the Overland and Summit add more comfort and off-road equipment. The best-value trim is often the Limited if you want a strong mix of equipment and capability without jumping all the way to the top.
• Powertrain: The model offers a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6, a 5.7-liter Hemi V8, and an SRT 6.4-liter Hemi V8. The EcoDiesel stands out for torque and efficiency, while the V8s are for buyers who want more power and towing strength.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes a 3-point center rear seatbelt, active head restraints, advanced multistage front airbags, driver inflatable knee-bolster airbags, supplemental side curtain and front seat-mounted airbags, electronic stability control, 4-wheel traction control, rain brake support, ready alert braking, and trailer sway control. Higher trims add a rear back-up camera, front and rear park assist, hill-descent control, blind-spot and cross-path detection, adaptive cruise control, and forward-collision warning. The back-up camera is not standard on every trim.
• Infotainment: The base system uses a 5-inch touchscreen with AM/FM/Bluetooth and voice command with Bluetooth. Higher trims get an 8.4-inch screen with SiriusXM, HD Radio, and navigation, plus available or standard premium audio and connected features.
• Fuel efficiency: The 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel rates 21/28, and the 3.6-liter V6 returns 17/24 in 4WD form. The 5.7-liter Hemi V8 is rated 14/20, while the SRT 6.4-liter Hemi V8 gets 13/19.

Which 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee trim should I buy?

The 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee is offered in 8 trim levels: Laredo, Laredo E, Altitude, Limited, Overland, Summit, SRT, and SRT Red Vapor.

Here's the short version:

• Laredo: This is the entry point, but it’s pretty bare-bones, with minimal features beyond basics like dual-zone automatic temperature control, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, Uconnect 5.0, Bluetooth, and keyless entry. It makes sense only if you want the lowest starting price and plan to keep expectations modest.
• Laredo E: This trim is the smarter starting point because it opens the door to a much wider range of useful options, including appearance, comfort, towing, and off-road packages. If you want flexibility and value, this is the trim to focus on first.
• Altitude: This is a better-equipped choice if you want more convenience right away, since heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, an 8.4-inch Uconnect screen, and a power liftgate become standard. It’s a good fit if you want a more upscale daily driver without moving into luxury-trim pricing.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the rear back-up camera, Quadra-Trac II 4WD, and Selec-Terrain as standard equipment, while also unlocking more upscale options. It’s the trim that most clearly balances comfort, capability, and equipment.
• Overland: This trim leans harder into comfort and off-road hardware, with standard heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, and the Off-Road Adventure II package. Choose it if you want a more premium feel and stronger trail capability.
• Summit: This is the fully loaded comfort-focused version, with the broadest mix of luxury and capability features and only engine choice and rear-seat entertainment left to decide. It suits you if you want the most upscale Grand Cherokee experience.
• SRT: This is the performance-oriented version, with a single 6.4-liter Hemi V8 and a feature-rich setup. It’s for buyers who care most about speed and performance character.
• SRT Red Vapor: This is the same performance-focused idea as the SRT, but with unique interior trim and a more distinctive appearance. It makes sense if you want the high-performance model with extra visual flair.

The safety package grows as you move up the lineup, and the rear back-up camera is not available on the first two trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,880 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.84% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,384, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $11,384 sits slightly below last year's $12,627.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. For a seller, the key is that a well-kept example with desirable equipment and clean history should still attract interest, especially because shoppers value this SUV’s mix of comfort, capability, and features. The broader trim and engine spread also means the right configuration can matter a lot when it’s time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee safe?

The 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee earns five-star ratings overall from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in every category except rollover, which earns four stars. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives it its highest rating of Good in all categories except Small Overlap Front, which received only a Marginal rating.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes a 3-point center rear seatbelt, active head restraints, advanced multistage front airbags, driver inflatable knee-bolster airbags, supplemental side curtain and front seat-mounted airbags, electronic stability control, 4-wheel traction control, rain brake support, ready alert braking, and trailer sway control. Higher trims add a rear back-up camera, front and rear park assist, hill-descent control, blind-spot and cross-path detection, adaptive cruise control, and forward-collision warning.

The main caveat is the Marginal Small Overlap Front result, and the rear back-up camera is not standard across the lineup.

Should I buy a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.84% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 stands out for its wide trim and engine range, giving you more ways to match capability, comfort, and budget.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $10,487, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $11,384 average.
• It blends serious off-road ability with everyday usefulness.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $12,870, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $11,384 average.
• It emphasizes towing, off-pavement confidence, and upscale comfort.

The bottom line: The 2015 is the best all-around path if you want the broadest mix of trims, features, and market availability. If your priority is saving money, the 2014 is the better value play; if you want to spend more for a newer-feeling alternative with similar strengths, the 2016 is the natural step up.
