CarGurus Analysis: 2015 INFINITI Q50
overall

Summary
With 432 currently listed for sale and an average price of $12,967, 25.0% of 2015 INFINITI Q50s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 INFINITI Q50 4.63 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.33 / 10.
45.4% of 2015 Q50 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2015 INFINITI Q50 stands out for its wide range of personalities. Depending on how it is set up, it can be a comfortable and quick all-weather performer, a modern and advanced technological tour de force, a fuel-efficient luxury car, or a fast and furious sports sedan. That flexibility, along with its appealing design, gives it a broader appeal than its sales success might suggest.
Its most distinctive trait is Direct Adaptive Steering, which made the car feel artificial enough to be compared to a video game. That unusual steering setup is part of what makes the Q50 memorable, even if it is not universally flattering. Buyers drawn to the 2015 INFINITI Q50 are likely to appreciate its luxury, performance, and features, but they should also be aware that some owners have mentioned limited trunk space, a laggy touch screen, and a bit of road noise.

The car is a great car and has wonderful features. Lets start with the good. It has plenty of power, it rides real smooth, the sound system is good and it seems to be a reliable vehicle. The cons. Trunk space is very limited, the touch screen system seems a bit laggy. Other than that I have not had any other issues with the vehicle.

How much does the 2015 INFINITI Q50 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $12,942 |
| Year-Round Low | $12,257 |
| Year-Round High | $13,315 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $13,262 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −2.41% |
Prices have softened 2.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 431 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2015 INFINITI Q50 a good car?
Yes — the 2015 INFINITI Q50 earns a 4.63/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.
Owners consistently praise its luxury, performance, and features, along with its powerful engine, smooth handling, and stylish design. The Q50’s broad personality also fits different priorities, since it can be set up as a comfortable all-weather performer, a fuel-efficient luxury car, or a sportier sedan.
That versatility lines up with the model’s upscale, tech-forward character in the overview, and it helps explain why it appeals to buyers who want more than a one-note luxury sedan. 25.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.
Is the 2015 INFINITI Q50 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.63/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner summary points to a car that feels dependable in daily use, with praise centered on its performance, luxury, and features. The expert notes also say Infiniti corrected complaints from the prior model year and that the car is likely to be just as durable and dependable as the G37 and G35 before it.
That said, the same sources also point to technology-related concerns and a predicted reliability outlook that is not especially strong, so you should pay close attention to how well the car’s systems work during a test drive and inspection. For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is ending up with a car whose advanced features have not aged as cleanly as its mechanical basics.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 INFINITI Q50?
At 46.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in a collision or has higher mileage. Focus on bodywork quality, alignment, tire wear, and whether the electronics and steering systems behave consistently, since the Q50’s appeal depends heavily on how well its features work.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base version is missing some equipment that appears on higher trims, and the source notes that leather seats are not standard on the Premium trim either. You should compare feature content carefully if you want the best mix of comfort and value.
- Powertrain: The 3.7-liter V6 makes 328 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque, and the car uses a 7-speed automatic transmission. The source also notes that the hybrid version is both more powerful and more fuel-efficient than the standard Q50 3.7.
- Safety package: The Technology Package adds Active Lane Control, Distance Control Assist, and Blind Spot Intervention. The source also notes that you must first get the Deluxe Touring Package to get the Technology Package, which means Direct Adaptive Steering comes along with it.
- Infotainment: The car uses Infiniti InTouch, InTouch Apps, and InTuition, with dual touchscreens, a lower touchscreen for radio functions, and an upper navigation screen that is also touch-sensitive. The source does not mention wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, or OTA updates.
- Fuel efficiency: The expert test drive returned 19.2 mpg, and the official combined estimate is 23 mpg.
Which 2015 INFINITI Q50 trim should I buy?
The 2015 INFINITI Q50 is offered in 4 trim levels: Q50 3.7, Premium, sport-tuned S trim, and Q50S 3.7.
Here's the short version:
- Q50 3.7: This is the entry point, but the source makes clear that the base version is light on value and that the only option is a power sunroof. If you want the lowest starting price, this is the trim to watch, but it is not the strongest value choice.
- Premium: This is the best-value trim to target if you want a more complete luxury experience without jumping too far up the price ladder. The source specifically points to the Premium trim as the place where you should be spending extra to improve the car’s equipment level.
- sport-tuned S trim: Choose this if you want the more aggressive look and driving character described in the source. It pairs with the Q50’s sportier setup and is the right direction if performance matters more than comfort.
- Q50S 3.7: This is the enthusiast pick. The source highlights its upgraded brakes, sport-tuned suspension, forged aluminum wheels, and summer performance tires, making it the most capable and engaging version described here.
The safety-package note to keep in mind is that the Technology Package requires the Deluxe Touring Package first, so some advanced driver-assistance features are not standalone additions.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 INFINITI Q50?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.
- Deal availability: 25.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 431 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.41% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 46.4% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $12,257, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 INFINITI Q50's resale value?
The current average of $12,942 sits slightly below last year's $13,262.
That decline suggests the market has softened a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you can reduce the impact of that depreciation. The Q50’s broad appeal and strong feature set should still help it attract shoppers who want a luxury sedan with performance and technology.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.63/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 INFINITI Q50 safe?
The 2015 INFINITI Q50 gets decent crash-test ratings, though there is room for improvement. The front passenger earns a three-star rating in a frontal-impact collision from NHTSA, and the IIHS small overlap frontal-impact result is Acceptable, which means it will no longer be good for a Top Safety Pick rating starting in 2016.
It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.
The Technology Package adds Active Lane Control, Distance Control Assist, and Blind Spot Intervention, and Infiniti makes those systems easy to turn on and off. The catch is that you must first get the Deluxe Touring Package to access the Technology Package, so advanced safety tech is not available on every version.
Should I buy a 2015 INFINITI Q50 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 25.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 46.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.41% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.63/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It offers a wide range of personalities, from comfortable all-weather cruiser to sport sedan.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $11,462, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $12,942 average.
- It introduces Infiniti’s new naming, styling, and technology direction in one aggressive luxury sedan.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $13,305, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $12,942 average.
- It feels more like a legitimate luxury sports sedan with a more polished overall appeal.
The bottom line: The 2015 is a smart choice if you want the Q50’s broad mix of luxury, performance, and technology at a softened market price. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2014 is the value play; if you want the more refined follow-up, the 2016 is the better upgrade path.
