CarGurus Analysis: 2015 INFINITI Q50
overall

Summary
With 426 currently listed for sale and an average price of $13,107.00, 23.9% of 2015 INFINITI Q50s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 INFINITI Q50 4.63 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.33 / 10.
45.1% of 2015 Q50 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2015 INFINITI Q50 stands out for its unusual range of personalities. Depending on how it is set up, it can be a comfortable and quick all-weather performer, a modern and advanced technological tour de force, a fuel-efficient luxury car, or a fast and furious sports sedan. That flexibility, along with its appealing design, gives it a broader appeal than its sales might suggest.
Its most distinctive trait is Direct Adaptive Steering, which made the car feel artificial enough to be compared to a video game. That same technology-forward character is part of what makes the Q50 interesting, but it also helps explain why the car may not suit every driver. Buyers drawn to luxury, performance, and features are likely to find plenty to like, while those who value a more natural steering feel may find its biggest innovation less convincing.
Owners also tend to praise the 2015 INFINITI Q50 for its luxury, performance, and features, as well as its powerful engine, smooth handling, and stylish design. At the same time, some note limited trunk space, a laggy touch screen, and a bit of road noise compared with sportier models.

The car is a great car and has wonderful features. Lets start with the good. It has plenty of power, it rides real smooth, the sound system is good and it seems to be a reliable vehicle. The cons. Trunk space is very limited, the touch screen system seems a bit laggy. Other than that I have not had any other issues with the vehicle.

| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $13,173 |
| Year-Round Low | $12,283.97 |
| Year-Round High | $13,422.32 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $13,430 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −1.91% |
Prices have softened 1.91% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 423 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
If you find a listing below $12,283.97, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2015 INFINITI Q50 a good car?
Yes — the 2015 INFINITI Q50 earns a 4.63/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating.
The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.
Owners consistently praise its luxury, performance, and features, along with its powerful engine, smooth handling, and stylish design. The Q50’s broad personality also fits your priorities whether you want a comfortable all-weather performer, a fuel-efficient luxury car, or a sport sedan with more edge.
If you want a luxury sedan with strong feature appeal and a distinctive driving character, this year’s setup gives you a lot to consider. 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which adds some shopping flexibility.
Is the 2015 INFINITI Q50 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.63/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Owners describe it as dependable and praise its long-term appeal, while also highlighting the powerful engine and smooth handling that support everyday confidence. The expert evaluation also says the Q50 is likely to be just as durable and dependable as the G37 and G35 before it.
The ownership picture is helped by Infiniti’s effort to address complaints from the prior model year, and the expert notes that the automaker’s quality performance improved after those fixes. For used buyers, the main risk is that technology-heavy versions can bring more complexity to sort through over time.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 INFINITI Q50?
At 47.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, alignment, and signs of prior repair. Because this model can be configured with a lot of technology and performance hardware, condition matters as much as mileage. Pay extra attention to how the steering, infotainment, and driver-assist features behave during a test drive.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base version is positioned as the entry point, while the Premium trim adds more equipment but still leaves some comfort features off the standard list. The sport-oriented Q50S brings more aggressive styling and upgraded hardware, which makes it the better fit if you want a sharper driving feel.
- Powertrain: A 3.7-liter V6 is described as making 328 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque, with a 7-speed automatic transmission and selectable drive modes including Eco, Sport, Snow/Ice, and Personal.
- Safety package: The Technology Package adds Active Lane Control, Distance Control Assist, and Blind Spot Intervention. You have to step through other packages first to get it, so feature access can vary by trim and option content.
- Infotainment: The cabin uses Infiniti InTouch, InTouch Apps, and InTuition, with dual screens, a touchscreen interface, and smartphone streaming support.
- Fuel efficiency: The expert reports 23 mpg for combined driving as the official estimate and notes a week-long average of 19.2 mpg.
Which 2015 INFINITI Q50 trim should I buy?
The 2015 INFINITI Q50 is offered in 3 trim levels: Q50 3.7, Premium, and Q50S 3.7.
Here's the short version:
- Q50 3.7: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the Q50’s core luxury-sedan personality without chasing extra equipment. It is the trim to compare first if you care most about value and plan to add only the options you truly want.
- Premium: This is the best-value choice if you want a more complete luxury experience, because the expert notes that the base car pushes you toward this trim for meaningful upgrades. It suits you if you want a better-equipped daily driver without jumping all the way to the sportier model.
- Q50S 3.7: This is the one to buy if you want the sharpest driving character, since it adds more aggressive styling and upgraded brakes and suspension. It is the right pick if you care most about performance feel and are willing to trade some ride comfort for it.
For safety-related features, the Technology Package sits above the trim line and requires additional package steps, so check option content carefully before you buy.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 INFINITI Q50?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough deal activity to reward careful shopping.
- Deal availability: 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 423 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.91% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 47.3% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $12,283.97, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 INFINITI Q50's resale value?
The current average of $13,173 sits slightly below last year's $13,430.
That kind of softening suggests the market has become a little more favorable for buyers than sellers. If you own one, you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, equipment, and how well the car has been maintained. Well-kept examples with desirable features should hold attention better than higher-mileage cars with incomplete history.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.63/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 INFINITI Q50 safe?
The Q50 gets decent crash-test ratings, though the expert notes room for improvement.
It earns a 8/10 safety score from our experts.
The Technology Package adds Active Lane Control, Distance Control Assist, and Blind Spot Intervention, and Infiniti makes those systems easy to switch on and off from the steering wheel. You do need to step up through other packages to get that safety content, so not every used example will be equally equipped.
One caveat is that the expert specifically flags a three-star front-passenger result in a frontal-impact crash test, which is worth keeping in mind if safety is a top priority.
Should I buy a 2015 INFINITI Q50 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 47.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.91% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.63/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It offers a wide range of personalities, from comfortable all-weather performer to fast sports sedan.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $11,364, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $13,173 average.
- It introduces Infiniti’s new naming, styling, and technology direction in one aggressive sedan.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $13,238, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $13,173 average.
- It feels more like a legitimate luxury sports sedan.
The bottom line: If you want the broadest mix of style, performance, and tech at a softer price point, the 2015 is the primary year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2014 is the cheaper alternative, while the 2016 makes sense if you want the later update and are willing to pay a bit more.
