How much does the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 9.84% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 165 listings available, which suggests you have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe is positioned as a practical crossover that still feels engaging to drive, with a strong turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and a size that lands in the sweet spot for many shoppers. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.

Its appeal is strongest if you want everyday usefulness without giving up some driving enjoyment, but the interior design is a little dated and the safety story is mixed. 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Santa Fe is described as a value-oriented crossover with relatively low ownership costs, helped by Hyundai’s warranty and roadside assistance coverage. The turbocharged engine can be thirsty, and the model’s overall dependability is described as only average, so you should expect long-term ownership to depend heavily on how well the vehicle was maintained.

For used buyers, that means a careful inspection and service-history review matter more than usual if you want to reduce future repair risk.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe?

At 54.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing has any accident or repair history. Focus on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of prior cosmetic or structural work, since the model’s safety record is a key concern. It also makes sense to confirm that the equipment you want is actually present, because some safety and convenience features vary by trim.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard trims are relatively stripped compared with the turbocharged versions, and the least expensive base trim does not get a reversing camera. Higher trims add more equipment, and the 2.0T trims standardize several safety features.
• Powertrain: The Santa Fe Sport is offered with regular-strength and turbocharged 4-cylinder engines, and the turbocharged version delivers strong acceleration but can be thirsty.
• Safety package: Blue Link includes automatic collision notification, an SOS emergency assistance button, and enhanced roadside assistance. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-change assist are optional on base trims and standard on 2.0T trims.
• Infotainment: Blue Link telematics is available, with remote vehicle access, stolen-vehicle recovery, car-finding, and smartphone-based features through the Remote Package.
• Fuel efficiency: The front-wheel-drive model is estimated at 19 mpg city, 26 highway, and 22 combined.

Which 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 2 trim levels: Santa Fe Sport and Santa Fe Sport 2.0T.

Here's the short version:

• Santa Fe Sport: This is the better fit if you want the lower-cost entry point and can live with a more basic equipment set. It still gives you the Santa Fe Sport’s practical size and available tech, but you may need to add options to match the safety and convenience content of the turbo model.
• Santa Fe Sport 2.0T: This is the best-value trim if you want the strongest performance and the most complete feature set. It adds the turbocharged engine and makes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-change assist standard.

The safety package is strongest on the 2.0T trims, where those driver-assistance features come standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 165 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.84% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,574, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $9,582 sits slightly below last year's $10,627.

That decline suggests the model has already absorbed some of its depreciation, which can help future sellers if prices stabilize. The current market also shows enough inventory and deal activity to keep pricing competitive, so condition and equipment will matter a lot when you eventually resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The Hyundai Santa Fe Sport earns a Marginal rating in the IIHS small overlap frontal-impact test, which keeps it from earning a Top Safety Pick rating.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Blue Link adds automatic collision notification, SOS emergency assistance, and enhanced roadside assistance, and the Santa Fe Sport can also be equipped with a reversing camera. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-change assist are optional on base trims and standard on 2.0T trims. The main caveat is the weak small-overlap crash-test result, so safety should be a major part of your used-car evaluation.

Should I buy a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.84% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 stands out for its engaging driving character and strong turbocharged acceleration.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $9,542, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $9,582 average.
• It is a more realistic three-row people mover with room for six sizable people.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced used buy, the 2015 is the stronger pick thanks to its lower average price, softer market, and more engaging character. If your priority is saving a little more upfront and you want a more traditional three-row layout, the 2014 is worth a look.

How does the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe compare to the 2015 Kia Sorento?

Our experts score the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe 7.3/10 and the 2015 Kia Sorento 6.8/10.

The Santa Fe is the stronger choice if you want more power and a more engaging driving feel, while the Sorento leans toward lower pricing and better fuel economy. The Hyundai also has the higher average used price, but it comes with a stronger expert score and a more performance-oriented character. The Kia offers more listings and a slightly better accident-free share, which may make it easier to shop if you’re focused on selection.
