How much does the 2015 Honda Pilot cost?

Prices have softened 6.80% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,486 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2015 Honda Pilot a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Honda Pilot earns a 4.83/5 user rating and a 6/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, smooth ride, and family-friendly usefulness, while also noting that it remains a practical choice for carrying people and cargo. The overview points to the Pilot’s 3-row, 8-passenger layout as its biggest strength, which fits well if you want a roomy family SUV rather than the newest styling or technology. Even so, the market still shows 32.3% good or great deals, which suggests you can shop selectively without giving up much choice.

Is the 2015 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, family-friendly SUV that many owners feel good about living with over time, especially because of its spacious cabin and smooth ride. The expert notes also describe average reliability and dependability, which suggests the Pilot is not a standout in this area but is still generally acceptable for used buyers. Honda’s added roadside assistance for the first 3 years or 36,000 miles also helps ownership confidence. For used shoppers, the main long-term risk is that condition and maintenance history matter more here than a strong reputation alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Honda Pilot?

At 58.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, alignment, and signs of prior repair. Because the Pilot is an older design, you should also focus on how well the cabin, drivetrain, and electronics have held up rather than assuming age alone tells the whole story. If you want the best value, compare condition closely across listings instead of chasing the lowest sticker price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Touring trim stands out for its unique wheels, while the EX, SE, and EX-L are called out as having more appealing wheels. The base-level feature set is limited by the Pilot’s age, so you should pay close attention to which convenience and appearance upgrades you actually get.
• Powertrain: The Pilot uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 250 hp and 253 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 5-speed automatic. It also uses Variable Cylinder Management to help reduce fuel use on the highway, and the available 4-wheel-drive system can send power rearward when traction is limited.
• Safety package: The Pilot lacks several newer driver-assistance features, including blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic emergency assistance. That gap is especially important if you want modern active safety tech.
• Infotainment: Touring models include Bluetooth, satellite radio, hard-drive music storage, a rear-seat DVD entertainment system, a 115-volt power outlet, and video input jacks. You do not get smartphone connectivity, mobile-app services, or newer connected features.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert observed 18.3 mpg in mixed driving, below the EPA’s 20-mpg combined rating.

Which 2015 Honda Pilot trim should I buy?

The 2015 Honda Pilot is offered in 4 trim levels: EX, SE, EX-L, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• EX: This is the trim to start with if you want the Pilot’s core family-hauling strengths without paying for extras you may not need. It gives you the basic roomy, practical formula that makes the Pilot appealing in the first place.
• SE: Choose this if you want a little more equipment than the EX while staying focused on value. It sits in the middle of the lineup and makes sense if you want a balanced mix of features and price.
• EX-L: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more upscale feel without jumping all the way to the top. If you want a nicer daily experience and plan to keep the Pilot for family duty, this is the trim to watch.
• Touring: Pick this if you want the most content and the rear-seat entertainment setup. It is the most feature-rich version, but the expert also notes its unique wheels and suggests the EX, SE, and EX-L may be more appealing visually.

The safety content also makes clear that the Pilot lacks several modern driver-assistance features, so trim choice does not fully solve the model’s safety-tech gap.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Honda Pilot?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,486 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.80% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,516, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $11,516 sits slightly below last year's $12,356.

That decline suggests the Pilot has already absorbed some of its depreciation, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. The softer pricing also means future sellers may need to compete more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on model-year freshness alone. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong shape, you should be better positioned than someone who overpays at the start.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.83/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Honda Pilot safe?

The 2015 Honda Pilot earns a Poor rating in the IIHS small overlap front test and four-star ratings overall from NHTSA.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

The Pilot does not include several modern driver-assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, collision warning, lane-departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring. The safety content also makes clear that the poor small-overlap result is the key weakness here, even though the Pilot earns Good ratings in the other IIHS tests and four-star overall crash protection from NHTSA. If safety tech matters a lot to you, this is the area where the 2015 Pilot feels most dated.

Should I buy a 2015 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 is a roomy, 3-row family SUV that still makes sense if you value space over newer tech.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $10,824, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $11,516 average.
• It emphasizes space and utility over flash.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $14,836, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $11,516 average.
• It brings a redesigned package with stronger safety and infotainment appeal.

The bottom line: buy the 2015 if you want the best mix of price and family usefulness, but lean toward the 2014 if you want to spend less or the 2016 if newer safety and tech matter more.
