Summary
With 2,196 currently listed for sale and an average price of $12,229, 28.4% of 2015 Honda Civics for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Honda Civic 4.5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8.67 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2015 Honda Civic stands out as a compact economy car that delivers the basics buyers care about most: reliability, safety, fuel efficiency, quality, and value. It is presented as a car that meets those expectations easily, while still offering more than the typical small-car formula. That combination makes it appealing to shoppers who want a straightforward, dependable daily driver without giving up the sense that they are getting a well-rounded package.
Owner feedback reinforces that appeal, with praise for its reliability, fuel efficiency, user-friendly design, smooth ride, and spacious interior. Those traits make it especially attractive for commuters and first-time car buyers. The main tradeoff is that some drivers find it lacking in power and note missing features compared with newer models, so its strengths are more about efficiency, comfort, and value than excitement.

The 2015 civic is a great value and great first car for a student or a commuter. It has great road feel, spunky power response, and good features. The visibility with the A-pillars is great thanks to the extra window. It will typically cost more vs. other competitors in the same class, but once you drive it you will understand why. I drove a Hyundai Elantra, which has almost all the same feature offerings in terms of technology and safety. For me, the Civic feels lighter, more powerful, more responsive.

Is the 2015 Honda Civic a good car?
Yes — the 2015 Honda Civic earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10. Owners consistently praise its reliability, fuel efficiency, user-friendly design, smooth ride, and spacious interior, which makes it especially appealing if you want a commuter-friendly daily driver or your first car. The overview also frames it as a compact economy car that delivers the basics buyers care about most while still feeling well-rounded. With 29.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop carefully.
Is the 2015 Honda Civic reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. Owner feedback repeatedly points to reliability, and it also highlights the car as dependable, trouble-free, and a good value for the price. The expert evaluation reinforces that theme by describing the Civic as a cost-effective car with strong ownership appeal, plus it includes 3 years or 36,000 miles of free roadside assistance. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the Civic’s reputation and more about finding one that has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by age or heavy commuting.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Honda Civic?
At 47.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or incomplete service records. Focus on condition, maintenance consistency, and any signs of prior bodywork or electrical issues. If you’re comparing multiple listings, the cleanest example is often worth paying a little more for.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: Base LX trims are the most affordable, while the EX Sedan adds a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with HondaLink connectivity and services, automatic climate control, LaneWatch technology, push-button engine start, a power sunroof, automatic headlights, and aluminum wheels. The LX is the key value play if you want the lowest entry price, while the EX suits you if you want more convenience and tech.
- Powertrain: Most Civics use a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine with 143 hp and a CVT. The setup is tuned for smooth, easy merging and relaxed everyday driving rather than quick acceleration.
- Safety package: The Civic includes a standard reversing camera and a 5-star overall crash-test rating from the NHTSA, plus a Top Safety Pick rating from the IIHS. LaneWatch is standard on all but the Civic LX and SE trims.
- Infotainment: Every 2015 Civic has Bluetooth calling and text-messaging. Above LX, you get a 7-inch touchscreen with HondaLink smartphone connectivity and services, plus Siri Eyes Free support with an iPhone.
- Fuel efficiency: The Civic is described as delivering effortless fuel economy in the low 30-mpg range, and the expert test drive notes 33 mpg in combined driving.
Which 2015 Honda Civic trim should I buy?
The 2015 Honda Civic is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, SE, EX Sedan, and Civic Si.
Here's the short version:
- LX: This is the least expensive choice and the best-value trim if you want the Civic’s core strengths without paying for extras. It gives you the essentials and keeps the purchase price down.
- SE: This trim sits above the LX and is worth considering if you want a little more equipment while staying focused on value.
- EX Sedan: This is the sweet spot for many shoppers because it adds the 7-inch touchscreen, HondaLink, automatic climate control, LaneWatch, push-button start, a power sunroof, automatic headlights, and nicer wheels.
- Civic Si: This is the enthusiast choice if you want the most fun-to-drive version and are willing to pay for the performance-tuned setup.
LaneWatch is standard on all but the Civic LX and SE trims.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Honda Civic?
Act selectively, because this is still a seller’s market and the best listings can move quickly.
- Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,197 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices are up 2.23% year-over-year.
- Clean inventory: 47.5% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $11,431, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Honda Civic's resale value?
The current average of $12,240 sits slightly above last year's $11,972.
That upward move suggests the Civic continues to hold buyer interest well, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. The relatively tight spread between the year-ago average and today’s price also points to steady demand rather than a sharp swing. For a future seller, that usually means you’re working with a model that remains easy to explain and easy to shop against alternatives.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Honda Civic safe?
The 2015 Honda Civic earns a 5-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts. The Civic also comes with a standard reversing camera, and HondaLink Assist can automatically call the authorities in the event of a collision when paired and activated. One trim-related safety note is that LaneWatch is standard on all but the Civic LX and SE trims, so lower trims miss that feature.
Should I buy a 2015 Honda Civic or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 47.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices are up 2.23% year-over-year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2015 Civic delivers strong value, reliability, and fuel efficiency in a well-rounded compact package.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $11,214, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $12,240 average.
- It feels more refined and capable than its price suggests.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $13,924, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $12,240 average.
- It brings bolder styling, refinement, and build quality.
The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and everyday usefulness, the 2015 is the primary year to target. If your budget is tighter, the 2014 is the value alternative; if you want a newer-feeling Civic and can spend more, the 2016 is the upgrade path.
