What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Ford Fusion?

At 57.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection. Focus on body condition, repair quality, and whether any prior damage affected alignment, panel fit, or electronics.

Because this model can be loaded with technology and driver-assistance features, it’s worth checking that every system works as intended. Pay close attention to the cabin controls, since the interior setup can be distracting if buttons, screens, or touch functions are not behaving properly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Titanium test vehicle shows that higher trims can bring a more upscale look and extra-cost equipment, while the base setup may leave you with a simpler cabin and fewer convenience features.
• Powertrain: The 2.0-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder delivers 240 hp and strong acceleration, while the smaller 1.6-liter EcoBoost is described as quieter and more refined. AWD is available for added traction.
• Safety package: Available features include a reversing camera, blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and inflatable rear seat belts. Some of these features can be irritating or awkward in use.
• Infotainment: The MyFord Touch system uses a display screen with touch-panel controls, and it can be hard to learn, slow to respond, and distracting to operate.
• Fuel efficiency: The AWD 2.0-liter setup is rated at 25 mpg combined, 22 city, and 31 highway, though real-world results can fall short.

If you want the most complete version of this model year, this is the trim that best captures it.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Ford Fusion?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 25.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,230 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,306, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Ford Fusion's resale value?

The current average of $8,380 sits slightly below last year's $8,697.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you purchase near the lower end of the current range, you may have less downside left than a buyer who pays closer to the top of the market.

Strong owner satisfaction also helps support demand when it’s time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Ford Fusion safe?

The 2015 Ford Fusion earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, though it also posts a three-star driver-protection result in side-impact testing.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford equips the Fusion with a reversing camera, blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and inflatable rear seat belts. Those features give you a broad safety toolkit, but some of the lane systems can be irritating or behave in ways you may not like.

The main caveat is the weaker side-impact result, so if safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to crash history and the condition of any repaired bodywork.

Should I buy a 2015 Ford Fusion or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 25.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines stylish design with strong handling and a broad feature set.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $7,764, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $8,380 average.
• It emphasizes agile driving and a value-oriented package.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around package, the 2015 is the better target because it blends style, comfort, and broad appeal with a still-reasonable market price. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2014 is the better value play, especially if you find one in clean condition with the features you want.
