How much does the 2015 Ford Escape cost?

Prices have softened 6.16% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,103 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable range of choices.

Is the 2015 Ford Escape a good car?

Generally — the 2015 Ford Escape earns a 4.4/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its value for money, performance, power, and functionality. The Escape also gets credit for its driving experience and for feeling better on the road than some rivals, while the Titanium model is singled out for especially appealing features.

For you, that means this is a strong fit if you want a family crossover that feels more polished than basic transportation and still stays practical day to day. The market also shows 28.9% of listings as good or great deals, which supports a selective-shopping approach.

Is the 2015 Ford Escape reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers found dependable and worth counting on, with repeated praise for value, performance, and functionality. The expert drive notes also describe the Escape as solid on the road, with a controlled ride and confident handling that reinforce its durable feel.

Ford’s tech and convenience features add to the ownership appeal, and the available equipment can make the Escape feel well equipped for the money. Still, some owners mentioned reliability concerns, so a careful used buyer should prioritize service records and a thorough pre-purchase inspection to reduce long-term ownership risk.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Ford Escape?

At 63.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then focus your inspection on bodywork, panel alignment, and signs of prior repair. It also makes sense to check that the features and electronics work properly, since the Escape can be loaded with technology and some owners found the tech a bit overwhelming.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S is the simplest version, with manual cloth seats, air conditioning, a 6-speaker audio system, and a manual liftgate, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience. The Titanium brings leather-trimmed seats, heated power front seats, and a foot-activated liftgate.
• Powertrain: The Escape can be equipped with a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder, a 1.6-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder, or a 2.0-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder. The turbocharged engines are described as delivering strong power over a wide range of engine speeds, and all versions require regular fuel.
• Safety package: Available driver-assistance tech includes Active Park Assist, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alerts, and Curve Control, along with electronic stability control and a rear-view camera. Some safety technology is not standard across every trim.
• Infotainment: The central display uses MyFordTouch, which divides the screen into quadrants, and Sync adds voice control. An available 390-watt Sony audio system supports Bluetooth, USB, auxiliary input, HD Radio, and SiriusXM.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter EcoBoost with AWD is rated at 21 mpg city and 28 mpg highway, and the Escape’s fuel economy can drop when you use more power.

Which 2015 Ford Escape trim should I buy?

The 2015 Ford Escape is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SE, and Titanium.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the most affordable way in, but it is also the most basic. You get the 2.5-liter engine, a 6-speed automatic, cloth seats, air conditioning, and a manual liftgate, so it suits you best if price matters most.
• SE: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds the stronger EcoBoost powertrain and more equipment without jumping all the way to the top trim. It is the trim to target if you want a better balance of features and cost.
• Titanium: This is the most upscale version, with leather-trimmed seats, heated power front seats, and the foot-activated liftgate. Choose it if you want the most comfort and convenience features.

The safety content notes that the Escape’s active safety technology includes electronic stability control, a rear-view camera, and blind-spot monitoring, which helps guide your trim choice if those features matter to you.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Ford Escape?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,103 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.16% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,162, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $8,163 sits slightly below last year's $8,698.

That downward movement suggests the Escape is still affordable on the used market, but it also means future sellers may face some price pressure if the market stays soft. For you, that can be a benefit now because it lowers the entry cost, though it may limit upside if you plan to resell soon.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Ford Escape safe?

The Escape earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, five-star ratings for side crash protection, and Good ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for almost all categories, though it receives a Poor rating in the small overlap frontal test.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety package includes electronic stability control, a rear-view camera, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alerts, Active Park Assist, and Curve Control. That said, the Poor small-overlap result is an important caveat, so you should weigh the Escape’s otherwise strong safety equipment against that known weakness.

Should I buy a 2015 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 stands out for its polished feel, strong performance, and broad mix of practicality and technology.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $8,856, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $8,163 average.
• It adds Sync 3, a newer infotainment system that improves the tech experience.

The bottom line: If you want the lower entry price and strong value story, the 2015 is the better starting point. If you care more about the newer infotainment upgrade and are willing to pay more, the 2016 is the cleaner alternative.

How does the 2015 Ford Escape compare to the 2015 Honda CR-V?

Our experts score the 2015 Ford Escape 7.7/10 and the 2015 Honda CR-V 8.5/10.

The Escape gives you a lower average used price and stronger performance, while the CR-V brings more horsepower, better fuel economy, and a higher expert score. If you want the more affordable and more energetic choice, the Escape makes sense; if you want the more efficient and better-rated all-around pick, the CR-V is the stronger bet.
