How much does the 2015 Ford Escape cost?

Prices have softened 6.26% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,078 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used Escapes to compare.

Is the 2015 Ford Escape a good car?

Generally — you’re looking at a 4.4/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its value for money, power, and functionality, and many also like the Titanium model’s features. The Escape’s appeal is strongest if you want a family crossover that feels more polished than plain, with a driving experience that owners describe favorably. It also fits buyers who want a car-based crossover with extra ride height, a handy liftgate, and useful cargo space.

Only 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is somewhat selective even with plenty of inventory.

Is the 2015 Ford Escape reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable and worth counting on, especially for everyday use and family duty. The expert evaluation also describes it as a friendly, approachable crossover that fits the garage and consumes fuel politely. On the ownership side, the Escape can be loaded with technology and luxury, but that also means you should pay close attention to how well the equipment has aged.

A used Escape with a clean service history and no lingering electrical or tech issues is the safer long-term bet.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Ford Escape?

At 64.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing has any accident history. Focus on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of prior repair, then make sure the electronics and driver-assistance features work as intended. Because this model can be loaded with technology, it’s smart to test every major convenience and infotainment function before you buy.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S trim is the most basic, with manual cloth seats, air conditioning, a 6-speaker audio system, and a manual liftgate, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience. The Titanium trim brings leather-trimmed seats, heated power-adjustable front buckets, and a liftgate that opens with a foot gesture.
• Powertrain: The Escape offers a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder with 168 hp, plus EcoBoost options that add more power, including a 1.6-liter turbo and a 2.0-liter turbo with 240 hp. The turbo engines are described as strong and broad in their power delivery, and all versions use regular fuel.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alerts is part of the safety tech, along with electronic stability control, a rear-view camera, and Curve Control. Active safety equipment is a meaningful part of the Escape’s appeal.
• Infotainment: MyFordTouch uses a quadrant-style central display, and Sync adds voice-activated control. The system is designed to be easy to update, and the available Sony audio setup adds Bluetooth, USB, auxiliary input, HD Radio, and SiriusXM support.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter EcoBoost with AWD is rated at 21 mpg city and 28 mpg highway, and the Escape is described as fuel-conscious overall.

Which 2015 Ford Escape trim should I buy?

The 2015 Ford Escape is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SE, and Titanium.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the simplest way into the Escape, with manual cloth seats, air conditioning, a 6-speaker audio system, and a manual liftgate. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the model and do not need the extra comfort or convenience features.
• SE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more equipment while staying below the top-end price range. It also opens the door to the stronger EcoBoost engine options, making it the trim to focus on if you want a better balance of features and performance.
• Titanium: This is the most upscale version, with leather-trimmed seats, heated power-adjustable front buckets, and a foot-activated liftgate. Choose it if you want the most comfort and convenience the Escape offers.

The safety tech package includes blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alerts, plus electronic stability control, a rear-view camera, and Curve Control.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Ford Escape?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,078 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.26% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,118, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $8,118 sits slightly below last year's $8,660.

That softer pricing suggests the Escape is currently more buyer-friendly than seller-friendly, which can make it easier to purchase now but may limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect your future resale position. The model’s broad appeal and solid owner satisfaction should continue to support demand.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Ford Escape safe?

The 2015 Ford Escape earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives it its highest Good ratings for almost all categories, though it receives a Poor rating in the small overlap frontal test.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Escape’s safety tech includes electronic stability control, a rear-view camera, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alerts, and Curve Control. Those features help round out its safety case, but the poor small-overlap result is the key caveat you should keep in mind when shopping used.

Should I buy a 2015 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.26% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 stands out for its polished driving feel and strong performance.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $8,815, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $8,118 average.
• It adds the new Sync 3 infotainment system.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2015 is the stronger buy because pricing has softened and inventory is healthy. If you care more about the newer infotainment upgrade and are willing to pay more, the 2016 is the cleaner next step.

How does the 2015 Ford Escape compare to the 2015 Honda CR-V?

Our experts score the 2015 Ford Escape 7.7/10 and the 2015 Honda CR-V 8.5/10.

The Escape is the stronger pick if you care most about performance and a more upscale driving feel. The CR-V counters with better fuel economy, a higher average used price, and a larger pool of listings. If you want the more engaging crossover and a lower purchase price, the Escape makes sense; if you want the more efficient and higher-rated overall package, the CR-V has the edge.
