Used 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for Sale nearSanta Fe, NM

How much does the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 6.06% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,917 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and conditions.

Is the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 4.6/5 user rating and 7.5/10 expert rating point to a truck that lands well with both owners and reviewers. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners repeatedly praise its value, comfort, performance, stylish design, and reliable handling. That lines up with the Silverado’s straightforward full-size pickup formula, which is aimed at buyers who want capability and everyday usability without unnecessary complexity. The market also shows 30.2% of listings as good or great deals, which adds to the appeal if you’re shopping carefully.

Is the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to reliability, dependable handling, and a truck that many owners feel good about keeping over time. The expert evaluation notes that Chevrolet’s Active Fuel Management helps deliver impressive fuel economy without false promises, and it also highlights free scheduled maintenance as part of the ownership value. At the same time, the truck’s long-term ownership risk is worth weighing because some reviewers mention mechanical concerns, including AC condenser and transmission issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

At 60.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of body panels, frame condition, and signs of prior repair. It also makes sense to focus on how the truck drives and shifts, since owner feedback and expert notes both point to some mechanical concerns worth checking carefully. If you’re considering a higher-mileage example, pay extra attention to maintenance records and evidence that the truck has been cared for consistently.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Silverado’s more upscale builds add features like heated and ventilated front seats, a Bose premium sound system, navigation, a power sunroof, and a Driver Alert package, while the work-oriented setup is much simpler. If you want the best value, look for a trim that gives you the comfort and tech you’ll actually use without paying for extras you do not need.
• Powertrain: The available 5.3-liter V8 is the more balanced choice for most buyers, while the 6.2-liter V8 adds power and towing ability but costs more and uses more fuel. The 6.2-liter also pairs with an 8-speed automatic, and the expert notes mention delayed engagement and occasionally harsh shifting.
• Safety package: The available Driver Alert Package includes lane-departure warning, forward-collision alert, front and rear parking-assist sensors, and a safety-alert seat. Blind-spot warning is not available, so you should not expect that feature even on higher trims.
• Infotainment: Chevrolet MyLink comes with either a 4.2-inch or 8-inch touchscreen, and the truck can be equipped with OnStar 4G LTE, Siri Eyes Free, and Text-Messaging Alerts. The larger screen is the one to seek out if you want the more modern setup.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert notes a combined EPA rating of 17 mpg for one Silverado configuration, and the 6.2-liter V8 reduced fuel economy by 1 mpg in city and highway driving compared with the 5.3-liter setup.

Which 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is offered in 1 trim level: WT.

Here's the short version:

The WT: is the straightforward choice if you want the Silverado’s core capability without paying for luxury extras. It is the trim that best fits buyers who care most about utility, familiar controls, and keeping purchase price down.

The safety package note to keep in mind is that the available Driver Alert Package adds lane-departure warning, forward-collision alert, front and rear parking-assist sensors, and a safety-alert seat, but blind-spot warning is not available.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,917 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.06% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,006, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500's resale value?

The current average of $17,097 sits slightly below last year's $18,200.

That decline suggests the Silverado has softened in the used market, which can be good news if you’re buying now but less ideal if you’re planning to sell soon. The current pricing trend also implies that future resale gains may be limited unless the truck is especially clean, well equipped, or unusually well maintained. Strong owner satisfaction can still help support demand, especially for buyers who value comfort, capability, and a familiar truck layout.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 safe?

The Silverado crew cab receives five-star ratings in all NHTSA assessments except rollover resistance, where it gets a four-star rating with both 2WD and 4WD. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rates its moderate overlap frontal-impact performance as Good.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevrolet offers an optional Driver Alert Package with lane-departure warning, forward-collision alert, front and rear parking-assist sensors, and a safety-alert seat. OnStar also provides Automatic Crash Response, and the truck can be equipped with a reversing camera and rear parking-assist sensors. The main caveat is that blind-spot warning is not available.

Should I buy a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 stands out for its straightforward truck formula and strong towing upside with the available 6.2-liter V8.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $15,174, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $17,097 average.
• It offers a more modern-feeling, practical pickup with new engines and useful everyday features.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced shopping target, the 2015 is the stronger pick because it combines softer pricing, solid owner satisfaction, and a broad used-market supply. If your priority is saving money above all else, the 2014 is the better value play, especially if you find one with a clean history and the right equipment.
