Used 2015 Chevrolet Equinox for Sale near California

How much does the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 7.64% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,811 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Form and function and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its style, smooth handling, and family-friendly features like the backup camera. They also describe it as dependable and economical for family needs, which fits the Equinox’s practical, versatile setup. In use, that means you’re looking at a crossover that prioritizes straightforward everyday utility over flash, with a quiet exterior and a wide range of configurations to suit different needs.

28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there’s still meaningful value in the market if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as dependable and economical for family needs, and the expert evaluation also notes that Chevrolet’s MyLink system is reliable. That said, the same evaluation points to some frustrations with command recognition and slow address entry, so the ownership experience is more about steady usefulness than polish. Chevrolet also includes the first 3 months of data, or 3GB, with the 4G/LTE hotspot setup, which is a nice perk if you use connected features.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that age and mileage can expose wear items and electronics, so a careful pre-purchase inspection matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Chevrolet Equinox?

At 62.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a hands-on inspection of body panels, safety equipment, and interior electronics. Because the Equinox is a practical family crossover, condition matters as much as mileage: look closely at how well the cabin, camera, and convenience features have held up. If you’re comparing multiple listings, favor the one with the cleanest history and the most consistent maintenance record.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base L includes the 2.4-liter engine, a 6-speed automatic transmission, Bluetooth phone, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and 60/40-split folding rear seats. The LS adds satellite radio with a 3-month trial subscription and body-colored exterior panels. The 1LT adds a 7-inch touchscreen MyLink radio, backup camera, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and available 18-inch wheels. The 2LT adds heated front seats, a premium stereo, automatic climate control, and optional leather and navigation. The LTZ adds rear park assist, forward-collision alert, lane-departure warning, halogen headlamps, a power rear liftgate, and optional 19-inch wheels, leather seats, and rear-seat entertainment.
• Powertrain: The base 2.4-liter 4-cylinder produces 182 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque and is rated at 22 mpg city/32 highway. The optional 3.6-liter V6 makes 301 hp and 272 lb-ft of torque and is best if you want stronger towing or winter-driving capability, though it comes with a meaningful fuel-economy penalty.
• Safety package: The Equinox includes 4-wheel antilock brakes, tire pressure monitoring, daytime running lamps, driver and passenger airbags with side-impact bags, and head curtains up front. Higher 2LT and LTZ trims add frontal-collision alert, lane-departure warnings, and parking sensors, while every trim except the base L comes with a rear-facing parking camera.
• Infotainment: Chevrolet’s MyLink system uses a 7-inch touchscreen on the 1LT and above, supports Bluetooth streaming with Pandora and Stitcher, and pairs with available OnStar and 4G/LTE hotspot capability. Higher trims can also be fitted with dual rear-screen entertainment systems.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.4-liter engine is rated at 22 mpg city and 32 highway, while the 3.6-liter V6 is rated at 17 mpg city and 24 highway.

Which 2015 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2015 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 5 trim levels: L, LS, 1LT, 2LT, LTZ.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the simplest way into the Equinox, with the 2.4-liter engine, 6-speed automatic, Bluetooth phone, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and split-folding rear seats. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost entry point and can live without the convenience and safety upgrades found higher up.
• LS: This trim adds satellite radio with a 3-month trial and body-colored exterior panels, so it’s a modest step up if you want a little more polish without moving far up the price ladder.
• 1LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the 7-inch touchscreen MyLink radio, backup camera, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and available 18-inch wheels. If you want the most useful everyday upgrades without stretching too far, this is the one to target.
• 2LT: This trim adds heated front seats, a premium stereo, automatic climate control, and optional leather and navigation. It’s a good fit if comfort matters more to you and you want a more upscale daily-driver feel.
• LTZ: This is the most feature-rich version, with rear park assist, forward-collision alert, lane-departure warning, halogen headlamps, and a power rear liftgate. Choose it if you want the most convenience and safety equipment available in the lineup.

Higher 2LT and LTZ trims are the ones that bring the extra safety tech, while the base L skips the rear-facing parking camera.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,811 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,068, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $8,068 sits slightly below last year's $8,735.

That softer pricing suggests the Equinox is currently in a buyer-friendly phase, which can work against future resale if you buy at the wrong price. If you plan to sell later, your best protection is to buy well now, keep the vehicle in clean condition, and favor trims and equipment that broader shoppers want. A well-kept example with a strong history should be easier to move than one with visible wear or accident history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The Chevrolet Equinox received a 4-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, including a 5-star rating for side impact crashes and 4 stars for front and rollover crashes. Similarly, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the Equinox a Good rating in all categories—small and moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints and seats.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Equinox includes rear child-seat latches and easy ingress and egress for loading and unloading in the front and rear seats. Higher 2LT and LTZ trims add frontal-collision alert, lane-departure warnings, and parking sensors, while every trim except the base L comes with a rear-facing parking camera. If you’re shopping the lower trims, that camera gap is worth keeping in mind.

Should I buy a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 stands out for its tried-and-true family-crossover formula, quiet exterior, and wide range of configurations.

The bottom line: If you want a straightforward, practical used crossover with broad market availability and a strong owner-satisfaction signal, the 2015 is a sensible choice. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can use the softer market to target a well-kept example with the features you want rather than settling for the first cheap listing you see.
