How much does the 2014 Toyota Tundra cost?

Is the 2014 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Toyota Tundra earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, comfort, rugged performance, spacious interior, and safety features. The overview also points to a truck that feels especially well suited to real truck use, with enough technology to handle weekend duty and job-site demands.

That combination makes it a strong fit if you want a full-size pickup that feels capable without being stripped down or purely utilitarian. With 30.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliability, and the truck is also praised for being rugged and comfortable, which supports the idea that it can be a dependable long-term companion. The expert notes also frame it as a truck that better matches how people actually use a pickup, which reinforces its durability-minded appeal.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a truck with this much capability can also come with higher operating costs and wear from hard use, so condition matters a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Toyota Tundra?

At 55.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then focus your inspection on signs of prior body damage, uneven wear, and evidence of hard truck use. Because this model is often bought for work and towing, it makes sense to pay close attention to the condition of the suspension, brakes, bed, and interior wear points.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SR is the work-truck choice with a dark plastic grille and front bumper plus very basic steel wheels, while the SR5 adds chrome bumper endcaps, chrome grille accents, fog lights, 18-inch 5-spoke wheels, and a 7-inch touchscreen. The Limited adds a unique grille insert, 20-inch chrome wheels, chrome mirrors and door handles, leather heated seats, navigation, and a power sliding rear window, while Platinum adds body-color exterior trim, LED daytime running lights, a power sunroof, unique leather stitched interior cladding, and JBL premium audio.
• Powertrain: The base SR comes with a 270-hp 4.0-liter V6 and a 5-speed automatic, while the SR5 adds a 4.6-liter V8 with 310 horsepower. Limited and Platinum trims use the 5.7-liter V8 with 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic and available 4WD.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes a backup camera, front and side impact airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system, and trailer sway control. Optional equipment includes proximity parking sensors and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: Higher trims feature Toyota’s Entune system, including a 7-inch touchscreen on the SR5 and app-based features such as weather, traffic, Pandora streaming radio, BING web searches, and OpenTable restaurant reservations.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 RWD Tundra gets 16 mpg city and 20 highway, while the 4.6-liter V8 RWD gets 15 city and 19 highway. The 5.7-liter V8 gets 13 city and 17 highway, with an estimated 15 mpg combined.

Which 2014 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2014 Toyota Tundra is offered in 4 trim levels: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the work-truck trim, and it makes the most sense if you want the lowest entry price and can live without the nicer exterior touches and upgraded tech found higher up.
• SR5: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds chrome accents, fog lights, 18-inch wheels, and the 7-inch Entune touchscreen without jumping all the way to the pricier luxury-oriented trims.
• Limited: This is the right pick if you want a more upscale truck, with leather heated seats, navigation, a power sliding rear window, and larger 20-inch chrome wheels.
• Platinum: This is the top choice if you want the most equipment, including body-color exterior trim, LED daytime running lights, a power sunroof, stitched leather interior cladding, and JBL premium audio.

The safety package centers on a standard backup camera, with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert available on higher-spec versions.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Toyota Tundra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right truck.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 925 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.13% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 55.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,431, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $22,502 sits slightly above last year's $22,249.

That modest increase suggests the market has held up reasonably well for this model year. If you buy carefully and keep the truck in strong condition, you should have a decent chance of preserving value better than a vehicle with weaker demand.

The price range also shows that buyers are still willing to pay near the middle of the market for the right example, which helps support future resale. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Toyota Tundra safe?

The 2014 Toyota Tundra earns four-star ratings in all NHTSA crash tests.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes a backup camera, front and side impact airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system, and trailer sway control. Optional safety equipment includes proximity parking sensors and a blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert.

The standard backup camera is a meaningful advantage for low-speed maneuvering, and the available blind-spot monitoring adds useful everyday reassurance. If you want the most confidence in a used example, look closely at whether the truck has the optional driver-assistance features you want.

Should I buy a 2014 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.13% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2014 stands out as a full-size pickup that blends toughness with enough technology for weekend duty and job-site demands.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $23,663, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $22,502 average.
• TRD Pro trim adds special suspension upgrades and distinctive detailing.

The bottom line: if you want the stronger value play, the 2014 is the better starting point because it combines solid owner satisfaction, a lower average price, and a broad inventory pool. If you are willing to pay more for a more distinctive setup, the 2015 is worth a look, especially if TRD Pro appeal matters to you.
