How much does the 2014 Toyota Prius cost?

Prices are up 1.52% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 779 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2014 Toyota Prius a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Toyota Prius earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners repeatedly praise its great gas mileage, comfort, and spaciousness, and many also value its reliability and overall value for money. That makes it a strong fit if you want a commuter-friendly hybrid for everyday driving, deliveries, or other low-running-cost use cases. With 31.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Toyota Prius reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability, dependability, and a trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers saying it’s a car they can count on for commuting and deliveries. That kind of feedback matters most if you plan to keep the car for the long haul, because it suggests lower ownership stress for used buyers who prioritize durability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Toyota Prius?

At 51.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch hidden issues early. Focus especially on overall condition, maintenance records, and any signs of wear that could matter more on an older hybrid. Because battery health can be a concern on used hybrids, it’s smart to make that part of your inspection checklist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Toyota Prius?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 779 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.52% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 51.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,950, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Toyota Prius's resale value?

The current average of $10,852 sits slightly above last year's $10,689.

That modest increase suggests the market has held up reasonably well, which can help support resale confidence if you buy now and sell later. The Prius’s combination of efficiency and practical ownership appeal tends to keep it relevant with budget-minded shoppers. Strong demand for fuel-saving commuters can also help limit depreciation compared with less efficient alternatives.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Toyota Prius or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 51.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.52% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $12,536, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $10,852 average.
• It adds a more polished everyday driving experience with strong comfort and practicality.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2014 if you want the lower entry price and are comfortable shopping carefully for condition and history. Move to the 2015 if you’re willing to pay more for a newer model-year alternative with a slightly more refined ownership experience.
