Why it stands out
The 2014 Toyota Highlander has significantly transformed from its predecessors, shedding the "boring" crossover image to become a stylish and capable family vehicle. Its athletic design features a menacing grille and raked headlights, making it visually appealing. Under the hood, the optional 3.5-liter V6 offers a respectable 270 horsepower, paired with a well-tuned six-speed automatic transmission that balances performance and fuel efficiency, achieving up to 19 mpg city and 25 highway in front-wheel-drive configurations. One of its strong points is the spacious interior, which includes flexible seating configurations and top-notch safety features like a blind-spot monitoring system and a pre-collision system. However, some users have noted a desire for improved fuel economy and more comfortable seating. The Highlander's capability shines through its advanced all-wheel-drive system, making it adaptable for both city driving and weekend adventures. As a family-focused crossover, it delivers practicality without sacrificing excitement, making it a strong contender in the crowded market.

Overall the experience of driving the vehicle is fantastic. The higher seating above a sedan car makes this a pleasant ride in any weather enabling the driver to see far ahead when driving in heavy traffic. It has enough air bags to float a tank.

Our Limited AWD is a very solid car that we expect to drive for a long time. Very comfortable seats. The space is easily configured for people or cargo. Love the shelf under the dash!

Overall... excellent vehicle. Front row and 2nd row seats adjust to accommodate most drivers/riders. I did alot of shopping around before I made my purchase and what I found is that the Highlander is really the best value for the money. The interior is very nice... not cheap looking as compared to some other mid-size SUVs which were actually more expensive.

The car feels solid, that’s what I was looking for. The downside is that the seats are uncomfortable and the mirrors don’t fold in.
