Used 2014 Subaru Impreza for Sale nearIndianapolis, IN

How much does the 2014 Subaru Impreza cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 723 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of shopping choice.

Is the 2014 Subaru Impreza a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Subaru Impreza earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

The Impreza’s appeal is its affordable, versatile, efficient all-wheel-drive setup, which gives you standard traction-focused confidence in a compact-car package. It is especially appealing if you want everyday usability without giving up all-weather capability.

At the same time, the expert review points to a car that is not especially polished. The engine and transmission combination is described as sluggish in real-world driving, and the cabin lacks the technology and refinement that make rivals feel more complete.

The market shows 31.0% good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2014 Subaru Impreza reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The expert review also points to a practical ownership story: the Impreza’s standard all-wheel drive, efficient operation, and solid value positioning make it a sensible daily driver. The reliability discussion in the expert content is mixed, though, with a cautionary note about below-average reliability and mediocre initial quality expectations balanced by a strong dependability recommendation from Consumer Reports.

The performance write-up also emphasizes that the car’s fuel economy is a highlight, which can help keep day-to-day ownership costs manageable. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a mechanically sound example may still feel less refined than newer or better-equipped rivals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Subaru Impreza?

At 56% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with incomplete service records. Pay close attention to body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the car’s equipment matches the trim level being advertised.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base 2.0i gives you standard all-wheel drive, Bluetooth, heated front seats, USB and auxiliary inputs, power windows, and air conditioning, while the 2.0i Premium adds 16-inch alloys, upgraded audio, cruise control, chrome accents, and a rear stabilizer bar. The 2.0i Limited adds leather upholstery, automatic climate control, fog lights, a rear-view camera, HD radio, and a 4.3-inch center display screen, and the 5-door Sport trims add 17-inch alloy wheels, special interior fabric, and distinct rocker panels.
• Powertrain: Every version uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine with 148 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque. A 5-speed manual is standard on most trims, while Limited models use a CVT with paddle shifters; the CVT is the setup tied to the listed 27 mpg city, 36 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined figures.
• Safety package: The Impreza includes a named suite of standard safety equipment rather than a branded driver-assistance package. Standard items include 7 airbags, 4-wheel antilock disc brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist, and crash-optimized construction. The rear-view camera is available on the Limited, and the content notes the car lacks blind-spot monitors and lane-departure warning.
• Infotainment: Bluetooth is standard, but the optional navigation system in Premium and Limited trims is the route to Aha smartphone integration, satellite radio, iTunes tagging, text-messaging assistance, and touchscreen controls. The screen size called out in the content is a 4.3-inch center display on the Limited.
• Fuel efficiency: The CVT is estimated at 27 mpg city, 36 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined.

Which 2014 Subaru Impreza trim should I buy?

The 2014 Subaru Impreza is offered in 5 trim levels: 2.0i sedan, 2.0i Premium, 2.0i Limited, 2.0i Sport Premium, 2.0i Sport Limited.

Here's the short version:

• 2.0i sedan: This is the entry point if you want the lowest-cost way into standard all-wheel drive, Bluetooth, heated front seats, USB and auxiliary inputs, power windows, and air conditioning. It makes the most sense if you care more about value and basic capability than extra comfort or tech.
• 2.0i Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds 16-inch alloys, upgraded audio, cruise control, chrome accents, and a rear stabilizer bar without jumping all the way to the Limited’s higher price. It is the trim to target if you want a more complete daily driver without overpaying.
• 2.0i Limited: This is the comfort-and-convenience choice, adding leather upholstery, automatic climate control, fog lights, a rear-view camera, HD radio, and a 4.3-inch center display screen. It suits you if you want the most upscale non-sport version and are willing to pay for it.
• 2.0i Sport Premium: This 5-door-only trim mirrors the Premium’s equipment but adds 17-inch alloy wheels, special interior fabric, and distinct rocker panels. It is a good fit if you want hatchback practicality with a slightly more distinctive look.
• 2.0i Sport Limited: This is the most equipped 5-door version, combining the Sport-specific styling with the Limited’s added comfort and tech features. Choose it if you want the hatchback body style and the fullest feature set.

The safety content highlights standard airbags, antilock brakes, and crash-optimized construction, while the rear-view camera is available only on the Limited.

• Inventory: There are 723 listings available.

What is the 2014 Subaru Impreza's resale value?

The current average of $9,017 sits slightly above last year's $8,930.

That small increase suggests the market has been stable rather than volatile, which is usually a good sign if you plan to resell later. A steady price trend can help you avoid steep depreciation shocks, especially if you buy at or below the current market average.

The Impreza’s practical all-wheel-drive appeal also helps keep it relevant to shoppers who value traction and everyday usability. If you buy a clean, well-kept example, you should have a reasonable chance of holding onto a fair share of its value over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Should I buy a 2014 Subaru Impreza or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Subaru’s summary for this year emphasizes an affordable, versatile, efficient all-wheel-drive formula.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $10,110, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $9,017 average.
• It adds better technology inside and a fresher front-end design.

The bottom line: If you want the lower purchase price and can live with the 2014’s weaker tech and refinement, it remains the value play. If you are willing to spend more for a nicer cabin and updated presentation, the 2015 is the better all-around choice.
