CarGurus Analysis: 2014 Nissan Juke
overall

Summary
With 364 currently listed for sale and an average price of $7,711, 29.4% of 2014 Nissan Jukes for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2014 Nissan Juke 4.29 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.17 / 10.
57.4% of 2014 Juke models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2014 Nissan Juke stands out first and foremost for its unconventional styling. It has been turning heads since it debuted in 2010, and its lines and proportions give it a look that feels more like an artist’s sketch than a typical small crossover. That distinctive appearance is a big part of its appeal, especially for buyers who want something with personality rather than a conventional shape.
Beyond the styling, the Juke’s personality is defined by engaging performance and a fun driving experience. It is also positioned as a budget-priced choice, which adds to its appeal for shoppers looking for something affordable with a sporty feel. Owners commonly praise its responsive handling and compact size, along with the driving modes, which reinforce its lively character.
The tradeoffs are just as clear. The Juke is hampered by poor cargo capacity and disappointing fuel economy, and owners also note limited cargo space for families and road noise. That mix of strong character and practical compromises makes the 2014 Nissan Juke distinctive, but it also means it is best suited to buyers who value style and driving enjoyment over everyday utility.

Pretty decent car for the value. I have a 2014 Nissan Juke SV with the manual transmission. (Avoid the automatic version of these Nissan at all cost) It actually is decently equipped, it comes with powered windows, powered locks, a sunroof, driver's seat adjustment is electrically powered, comes with Eco and Sport mode as well as traction control and hand free Bluetooth for phone calls. The Push Button Start feature makes it very easy to just get near the car and unlock/lock it and starting it without ever having to reach for your keys. The only things I wish my Juke had was a backup camera. It being a small 1.6 4 cylinder engine means I can easily get an average of 33.3 MPG mostly on city and little highway. It being the size it is means you can very easily park almost easily, and it's short wheelbase ensures you can easily glide through the narrowrests of streets in urban tight cities. Something to keep in mind is that this car is definitely more for the City than it is a highway cruiser, so if you mainly do City driving.. this car is definitely one to keep in mind. :) I do sometimes wish you could get the fully loaded SL that included AWD, Navigation, Leather Seats without being forced to get the CVT variant. While having an Aux Input is nice.. having a Bluetooth Sound System is always better. ;) If you are in the market for a Renault Duster or a Hyundai Tucson.. consider the Juke as a nice alternative. :)

How much does the 2014 Nissan Juke cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $7,706 |
| Year-Round Low | $7,367 |
| Year-Round High | $8,479 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $8,171 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −5.69% |
Prices have softened 5.69% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 363 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
Is the 2014 Nissan Juke a good car?
Generally — the 2014 Nissan Juke earns a 4.29/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.
Owners consistently praise the unique styling, fun driving experience, responsive handling, and compact size. The overview also points to a budget-priced, sporty character, which fits buyers who want personality and driving enjoyment more than conventional practicality.
The market also shows 31.4% of listings as good or great deals, so there are still attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2014 Nissan Juke reliable?
Owners rate it 4.29/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable in the ways that matter to shoppers who value its compact size, responsive handling, and everyday livability. The expert review also describes the manual transmission as one of the nicest it had driven in a while, which supports the sense that the Juke can feel well sorted when maintained properly.
If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the car’s compromises, especially space and fuel use, fit your needs.
What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Nissan Juke?
At 57% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of bodywork, alignment, and signs of prior repair. Because the Juke’s appeal is tied to its personality and driving feel, condition matters a lot: a rough example can erase much of the value advantage. It also makes sense to pay attention to cargo-area wear and any signs that the car has been used harder than average.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base S trim keeps things simple with keyless entry, full power, Bluetooth, and a 6-speaker stereo, but it still uses an actual turn-key start. The SV adds push-button start, satellite radio, and the I-CON system for climate and drive modes, while the SL adds heated seats and automatic head- and foglights. The Navigation Package adds a 5.8-inch touchscreen, voice recognition, a rear-view camera, and real-time traffic monitoring.
- Powertrain: The Juke uses a 188-hp, 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with 177 lb-ft of torque. You can get a CVT or a 6-speed manual, and all-wheel drive is available with the CVT while the manual is front-wheel drive only.
- Safety package: Standard equipment includes 6 airbags, antilock disc brakes, stability control, traction control, and active front head restraints. The safety ratings also show a 3-star frontal result, which is worth keeping in mind if safety is a top priority.
- Infotainment: The Navigation Package brings a 5.8-inch touchscreen, voice recognition, rear-view camera, and real-time traffic monitoring. The upgraded Rockford Fosgate stereo adds USB connectivity.
- Fuel efficiency: The Juke is rated at 25 mpg city and 31 mpg highway, and the review notes that real-world fuel economy can fall well short of that.
Which 2014 Nissan Juke trim should I buy?
The 2014 Nissan Juke is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SL, and NISMO RS.
Here's the short version:
- S: This is the simplest way into the Juke, and it still gives you keyless entry, full power, Bluetooth, and a 6-speaker stereo. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the model and can live without push-button start or the extra convenience features.
- SV: This trim adds push-button start, satellite radio, and the I-CON system for climate and drive modes. It looks like the best-value choice if you want the Juke’s personality with a better everyday feature set.
- SL: This one adds heated seats and automatic head- and foglights, so it suits you if comfort and convenience matter more than keeping the price down.
- NISMO RS: This is the most performance-focused version, with added power, sport suspension, larger brakes, summer tires, a retuned manual transmission, and Recaro race buckets. It is the right pick if you want the most aggressive Juke and are willing to accept the tradeoffs that come with it.
The safety content also notes that the Juke’s ratings point out some flaws, so it is worth weighing equipment against crash-test performance as you shop.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Nissan Juke?
The market looks moderately favorable for selective buyers.
- Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 363 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.69% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 57.0% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $7,367, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2014 Nissan Juke's resale value?
The current average of $7,706 sits slightly below last year's $8,171.
That decline suggests the Juke is currently in a softer pricing environment, which can help you buy at a better entry point. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. Because the model has a distinctive appeal, clean examples with strong presentation should stand out more than average ones.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.29/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2014 Nissan Juke safe?
The 2014 Nissan Juke earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, a three-star rating for frontal impact protection, and a five-star rating for side impact protection. The IIHS awarded it its highest rating of Good.
It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard safety equipment includes 6 airbags, antilock disc brakes, stability control, traction control, and active front head restraints. The main caveat is the weaker frontal crash result, so if safety is a priority, you should pay close attention to the vehicle’s condition and history.
Should I buy a 2014 Nissan Juke or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2014 if:
- 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 57% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.69% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.29/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- The 2014 stands out for its unconventional styling and engaging driving character.
Consider the 2015 if:
- At $8,761, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $7,706 average.
- It keeps the same distinctive styling but adds a more cautionary ownership message around safety and practicality.
The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2014 is the stronger starting point because pricing is softer and inventory is available. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model year, the 2015 may appeal, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2014 and shop for a clean, well-kept example.
