Is the 2014 Nissan Juke a good car?

Generally — the 2014 Nissan Juke earns a 4.3/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10. Owners repeatedly praise its unique styling, fun driving experience, responsive handling, and compact size, while the overview also points to its appeal for buyers who want more visual flair than a typical compact crossover. That said, the same market also reflects practical tradeoffs in cargo space and family room. With 26.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Nissan Juke reliable?

The expert evaluation also points to a vehicle that brings a sense of moxie and engaging performance, which can support confidence in day-to-day ownership. If you buy used, the main long-term risk is that the Juke’s compromises in space, noise, and fuel economy may become more noticeable as mileage and family needs grow.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Nissan Juke?

At 61.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, alignment, and signs of prior repair. Because this model’s appeal depends so much on condition and character, you’ll want to focus on how well the car has been maintained and whether any accident history affected fit, finish, or drivability. It also makes sense to compare listings closely, since the market includes both cleaner examples and cars that may need more scrutiny.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base S trim keeps things simple with keyless entry, full power, Bluetooth, and a 6-speaker stereo, while the SV adds push-button start, satellite radio, and the I-CON system for automatic climate control and drive modes. The SL adds heated seats and automatic head- and foglights, and the Navigation Package adds a 5.8-inch touchscreen, voice recognition, a rear-view camera, and real-time traffic monitoring.
• Powertrain: The Juke starts with a 188-hp, 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder, with front- or all-wheel drive depending on configuration. You can choose a CVT or a 6-speed manual, and the CVT includes paddle shifters and 8 virtual gears.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes 6 airbags, antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, and active front head restraints. The safety ratings also point to a 4-star overall crash-protection result and a 3-star frontal-impact result, so safety should be part of your shopping checklist.
• Infotainment: The Navigation Package adds a 5.8-inch touchscreen, voice recognition, rear-view camera, and real-time traffic monitoring. The upgraded stereo also includes USB connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: The Juke is rated at 25 mpg city and 31 mpg highway, and the expert review notes that real-world fuel economy can fall short of those figures.

Which 2014 Nissan Juke trim should I buy?

The 2014 Nissan Juke is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SL, and NISMO RS.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the simplest way into the Juke, and it gives you the core personality of the model without much extra equipment. It suits you best if you want the lowest-cost entry point and can live without the convenience upgrades found higher up.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds push-button start, satellite radio, and the I-CON system for climate and drive-mode control. If you want the Juke’s character with more everyday convenience, this is the trim to target.
• SL: This trim adds heated seats and automatic head- and foglights, making it a better fit if you want more comfort and convenience in daily use.
• NISMO RS: This is the performance-focused choice, with added power, sport suspension, larger brakes, summer tires, and a retuned manual transmission. It makes sense if you want the most aggressive version of the Juke and are willing to accept the tradeoffs that come with it.

The safety package includes standard airbags, stability control, traction control, and active front head restraints across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Nissan Juke?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 361 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $7,362, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Nissan Juke's resale value?

The current average of $7,714 sits slightly below last year's $8,006.

That softer pricing suggests the Juke is in a buyer-friendly phase, which can help you if you’re shopping now but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. The year-over-year decline also signals that future sellers may need to price competitively to attract attention. On the other hand, a distinctive model with a clear fan base can still hold interest when it’s clean, well-kept, and priced right.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Nissan Juke safe?

The 2014 Nissan Juke earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Good rating from IIHS.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes 6 airbags, antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, and active front head restraints. The main caveat is the 3-star frontal-impact result, which is weaker than the rest of its crash performance and should factor into your used-car evaluation. If safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to the vehicle’s condition, repair history, and whether the equipment is intact and functioning properly.

Should I buy a 2014 Nissan Juke or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2014 stands out for its engaging performance, compact size, and distinctive styling.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $8,806, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $7,714 average.
• The next year emphasizes the same bold styling while adding a stronger warning about safety-tech limitations.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2014 is the smarter starting point because it combines lower pricing with solid owner satisfaction and a distinctive personality. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer example, the 2015 may still appeal, but you should expect to pay a premium for it.
