CarGurus Analysis: 2014 Nissan Juke
overall

Summary
With 361 currently listed for sale and an average price of $7,628.00, 28.3% of 2014 Nissan Jukes for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2014 Nissan Juke 4.29 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.17 / 10.
57.3% of 2014 Juke models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2014 Nissan Juke stands out immediately for its unconventional styling. Its proportions and lines give it a look that is far more expressive than most small crossovers, and that distinctive design has made it a vehicle people tend to notice and react to strongly. For buyers who want something with personality rather than a conventional shape, that visual identity is a major part of the appeal.
Beyond the styling, the Juke is described as offering engaging performance at a budget price. That combination helps explain why it can attract shoppers looking for a fun, affordable vehicle rather than a purely practical one. Owners also commonly praise its responsive handling and compact size, which reinforce its sporty feel and make it easy to live with in tighter spaces.
The tradeoffs are just as clear. The Juke is hampered by poor cargo capacity and disappointing fuel economy, and owners also mention limited cargo space for families and road noise. Those drawbacks mean it is best suited to buyers who value character and driving enjoyment more than maximum utility or efficiency.

Pretty decent car for the value. I have a 2014 Nissan Juke SV with the manual transmission. (Avoid the automatic version of these Nissan at all cost) It actually is decently equipped, it comes with powered windows, powered locks, a sunroof, driver's seat adjustment is electrically powered, comes with Eco and Sport mode as well as traction control and hand free Bluetooth for phone calls. The Push Button Start feature makes it very easy to just get near the car and unlock/lock it and starting it without ever having to reach for your keys. The only things I wish my Juke had was a backup camera. It being a small 1.6 4 cylinder engine means I can easily get an average of 33.3 MPG mostly on city and little highway. It being the size it is means you can very easily park almost easily, and it's short wheelbase ensures you can easily glide through the narrowrests of streets in urban tight cities. Something to keep in mind is that this car is definitely more for the City than it is a highway cruiser, so if you mainly do City driving.. this car is definitely one to keep in mind. :) I do sometimes wish you could get the fully loaded SL that included AWD, Navigation, Leather Seats without being forced to get the CVT variant. While having an Aux Input is nice.. having a Bluetooth Sound System is always better. ;) If you are in the market for a Renault Duster or a Hyundai Tucson.. consider the Juke as a nice alternative. :)

Owners repeatedly praise the unique styling, fun driving experience, responsive handling, and compact size. The overview also frames it as a good fit if you want something with character and engaging performance at a budget price rather than a purely practical crossover.
That said, the same feedback also points to limited cargo space and road noise, so it makes the most sense if you value style and driving enjoyment more than maximum utility. With 24.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still gives you some opportunities to shop selectively.
Is the 2014 Nissan Juke reliable?
Owners rate it 4.29/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a vehicle people tend to count on for its fun, compact, and distinctive character, with recurring praise for its responsive handling and sporty feel. The expert review also describes the Juke as a model that can be cost-effective for the right buyer, especially if you value its unique role and can live with its compromises.
The performance write-up adds that the standard setup motivates well and that the manual transmission is especially well regarded. On the ownership side, the fuel-economy discussion suggests you should budget carefully, since real-world efficiency can fall well short of the official figures.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is not outright mechanical drama so much as living with the Juke’s compromises over time, especially if your needs grow beyond its space and efficiency limits.
What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Nissan Juke?
At 57.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, alignment, and signs of prior repair. Because the Juke’s appeal is tied to its distinctive design and compact packaging, condition matters a lot: you want to make sure the car still feels tight, clean, and well maintained.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base S trim keeps things simple with keyless entry, full power, Bluetooth, and a 6-speaker stereo, while the SV adds push-button start, satellite radio, and the I-CON system for climate and drive modes. The SL adds heated seats and automatic head- and foglights, and the Navigation Package adds a 5.8-inch touchscreen, voice recognition, a rear-view camera, and real-time traffic monitoring.
- Powertrain: The Juke uses a 188-hp, 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with 177 lb-ft of torque, paired with either a CVT or a 6-speed manual. Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are both part of the mix, and the CVT includes paddle shifters and 8 virtual gears.
- Safety package: Standard equipment includes 6 airbags, antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, and active front head restraints. The safety write-up also notes that the Juke’s frontal crash performance is weaker than its side-impact result.
- Infotainment: The Navigation Package brings a 5.8-inch touchscreen, voice recognition, a rear-view camera, and real-time traffic monitoring, plus an upgraded Rockford Fosgate stereo with USB connection.
- Fuel efficiency: The Juke is rated at 25 mpg city and 31 highway, but the expert review says real-world mileage can drop well below that.
Which 2014 Nissan Juke trim should I buy?
The 2014 Nissan Juke is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SL, NISMO RS.
Here's the short version:
- S: This is the simplest way into the Juke, but it still gives you keyless entry, full power, Bluetooth, and a 6-speaker stereo. If you mainly want the Juke’s styling and driving character at the lowest entry point, this is the trim to start with.
- SV: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds push-button start, satellite radio, and the I-CON system for climate and drive modes. It gives you a more modern feel without jumping all the way to the more specialized versions.
- SL: This trim adds heated seats and automatic head- and foglights, so it makes sense if you want more comfort and convenience for everyday use.
- NISMO RS: This is the most performance-focused version, with added power, sport suspension, larger brakes, summer tires, a retuned manual transmission, and a limited-slip front differential. It is the right pick if you want the most aggressive Juke experience and can live with the firmer setup.
The safety content also notes that standard safety equipment includes 6 airbags, antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, and active front head restraints.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Nissan Juke?
This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.
- Deal availability: 24.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 351 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.59% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 57.8% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $7,380.05, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2014 Nissan Juke's resale value?
The current average of $7,637 sits slightly below last year's $8,355.
That price movement suggests the Juke has softened enough that buyers may have more leverage today than sellers did a year ago. If you own one, that means resale value is being held back by the broader market trend rather than by a sudden collapse in interest.
Even so, the model’s distinctive styling and strong owner satisfaction can help keep demand alive among shoppers who specifically want a Juke. Well-kept examples should still stand out, especially if they present cleanly and are priced in line with the market.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.29/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2014 Nissan Juke safe?
A Good rating from IIHS and a four-star overall rating from NHTSA frame the Juke’s safety story, but the frontal crash result is weaker than the rest.
It earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and five-star ratings in side impact, and the NHTSA overall rating is four-star. The expert safety score is 6/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard safety equipment includes 6 airbags, antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, and active front head restraints. The safety write-up also flags the frontal crash result as the main shortcoming, so that is the area you should weigh most carefully if safety is a top priority.
Should I buy a 2014 Nissan Juke or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2014 if:
- 24.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 57.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.59% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.29/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- The 2014 combines standout styling with engaging performance at a budget price.
Consider the 2015 if:
- At $9,003, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $7,637 average.
- It emphasizes stronger safety-tech tradeoffs and a more cautionary ownership profile.
The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2014 is the more compelling starting point because it is cheaper and still delivers the Juke’s core personality. If you are willing to spend more for a newer example, the 2015 may be worth a look, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2014 and shop condition carefully.
