How much does the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class cost?

Prices have softened 9.95% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 670 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its elegance, luxury, performance, workmanship, comfort, and reliability. That lines up well with its role as a full-size luxury sedan for buyers who want a polished cabin and a high level of refinement. With 32.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have a meaningful share of the market to shop from.

Is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback specifically highlights reliability alongside comfort, workmanship, and elegance, which is encouraging if you want a used luxury sedan you can count on. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the car’s appeal and more about the cost of keeping a complex flagship sedan in top condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

At 59.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury sedan where repair costs can escalate quickly. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and how well the car’s advanced features and cabin equipment are working.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 670 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.95% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,513, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class's resale value?

The current average of $20,513 sits slightly below last year's $22,780.

That kind of price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help future resale if you buy at the right number today. If you pay close to the current average, you may have less cushion later, but a well-kept example can still hold appeal because it sits in a desirable luxury segment. Strong condition and documented care matter a lot here, especially for a car with expensive features and maintenance expectations.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest value play, the 2014 is appealing because prices have eased and owner satisfaction is excellent. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price.
