How much does the 2014 Lincoln MKZ cost?

There are 201 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2014 Lincoln MKZ a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Lincoln MKZ earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 6.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, comfort, and excellent features, along with the spacious interior and trunk. With 26.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Lincoln MKZ reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback emphasizes reliability, and the expert review also says the MKZ should prove more reliable than your average luxury car. That lines up with the car’s comfort-focused character and the sense that it can be a dependable daily driver when maintained properly. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that luxury-car upkeep and depreciation can still be higher than you might expect.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Lincoln MKZ?

At 54.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has any signs of prior bodywork or uneven wear. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the equipment you want is actually present, since this model’s features vary a lot by package. If you’re comparing multiple listings, pay close attention to how the car was optioned and whether the technology and safety features you expect are included.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The MKZ is offered in MKZ and MKZ Hybrid, and the standard car comes with leather, dual-zone climate controls, 10-way power heated front seats, an 8-inch touchscreen display, 18-inch wheels, and an adaptive suspension. The base setup is also where you’ll notice the biggest feature gaps, since a rear-view camera, parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, navigation, ventilated front seats, and other upgrades require higher packages.
• Powertrain: The standard engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder, with a 300-hp 3.7-liter V6 also available. A gas-electric hybrid powertrain is another option, and all-wheel drive is available with the turbo and V6 setups.
• Safety package: The available driver-assistance suite adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision warning with active braking. A rear-view camera and parking sensors require the Select package, while the Reserve package is the gateway to several of the more advanced safety features.
• Infotainment: The MKZ uses an 8-inch touchscreen display, and the interface is touch-sensitive rather than knob-based. The system can be slow to respond at times, so you should make sure the controls feel acceptable to you during a test drive.
• Fuel efficiency: The EcoBoost AWD test car was rated at about 22 mpg in the city, 31 mpg on the highway, and 25 mpg combined. The hybrid powertrain should average 38 mpg.

Which 2014 Lincoln MKZ trim should I buy?

The 2014 Lincoln MKZ is offered in 2 trim levels: MKZ, MKZ Hybrid.

Here's the short version:

• MKZ: This is the trim to start with if you want the core luxury-sedan experience with leather, heated power front seats, dual-zone climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen, 18-inch wheels, and an adaptive suspension. It’s the best-value choice if you want the MKZ’s style and comfort without chasing every available package.
• MKZ Hybrid: Choose this if efficiency matters most and you want the gas-electric setup mentioned in the performance notes. It makes the most sense for shoppers who care more about fuel economy than the extra punch of the turbo or V6.

For safety, the Select package is the first step up for a rear-view camera and parking sensors, while the Reserve package is the one that unlocks the more advanced driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Lincoln MKZ?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 201 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.92% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,550, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Lincoln MKZ's resale value?

The current average of $8,842 sits slightly below last year's $9,203.

That downward move suggests the MKZ has become more affordable for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer pricing environment. If you buy now, you’re entering at a lower average cost than a year ago, which can help limit near-term depreciation exposure. Strong owner satisfaction can still support demand, but luxury sedans with higher ownership costs often need sharper pricing to move quickly.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Lincoln MKZ safe?

The 2014 Lincoln MKZ earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, though it also receives a three-star rating for driver-side impact protection.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Lincoln’s available driver-assistance suite includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision warning with active braking. A rear-view camera and parking sensors require the Select package, and some of the more advanced safety features are reserved for the Reserve package or higher. The lower side-impact result is the main caveat to keep in mind when you’re comparing used examples.

Should I buy a 2014 Lincoln MKZ or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.92% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines a sporty premium-sedan character with strong comfort, reliability, and upscale appeal.

The bottom line: The 2014 MKZ makes sense if you want a stylish luxury sedan with strong owner satisfaction and a softer used-market price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep shopping the best-condition examples and prioritize cars with the right packages, since the feature spread is wide and the safety equipment can vary by trim.

How does the 2014 Lincoln MKZ compare to the 2014 Ford Fusion?

Our experts score the 2014 Lincoln MKZ 6.8/10 and the 2014 Ford Fusion 7.8/10.

The MKZ gives you a more upscale, premium feel, while the Fusion delivers the stronger overall expert score and a lower average used price. The MKZ also has a more powerful available engine and a richer feature set, but the Fusion is the more affordable choice with broader market availability. If you want luxury touches and a more distinctive personality, the MKZ has the edge; if you want the better value on paper, the Fusion is the safer bet.
