How much does the 2014 Lexus ES cost?

Prices are up 3.56% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 481 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2014 Lexus ES a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Lexus ES earns a 4.78/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its luxurious feel, comfort, and quality performance, and they also highlight its stylish design and smooth ride. In practical terms, that makes it a strong fit if you want a refined daily driver that feels upscale without being harsh or tiring on longer trips.

The main trade-offs are that some shoppers may want more advanced safety technology for the price, and the rear seat does not fold down. Even so, 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2014 Lexus ES reliable?

Owners rate it 4.78/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Reviewers describe it as reliable, and they repeatedly point to its dependable, trouble-free character and long-term appeal. The expert summary also emphasizes Lexus’s reputation for reliability and affordability of parts, while the cost-effectiveness commentary reinforces that comfort and reliability are core strengths.

That combination suggests lower ownership stress than many used luxury sedans, though you should still verify maintenance history and condition carefully on any higher-mileage example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Lexus ES?

At 45.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and prioritize any signs of prior bodywork, airbag deployment, or inconsistent panel gaps. A pre-purchase inspection is especially worthwhile here, since the car’s value depends heavily on condition and you want to confirm that comfort features, electronics, and safety equipment all work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base version has a class-leading 10 airbags, while option packages can add lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and a backup camera.
• Powertrain: The ES 350 uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 268 horsepower and 248 pound feet of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Available driver-assistance features include lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and a backup camera, but these depend on the option package you choose.
• Infotainment: Lexus uses the Remote Touch controller with an LCD screen and force feedback; the system is intuitive, but it does not have redundant touchscreen capability.
• Fuel efficiency: The ES 350 is rated at 21 mpg city, 31 highway, and 24 combined, and Eco mode is the setting to use if you want to maximize efficiency.

Which 2014 Lexus ES trim should I buy?

The 2014 Lexus ES is offered in 1 trim level: ES 350.

Here's the short version:

The ES 350 is the trim to focus on if you want the full Lexus ES experience: a comfortable cabin, strong ride quality, and a well-rounded luxury feel without paying for unnecessary flash. It also brings the 3.5-liter V6, the Remote Touch interface, and the model’s core comfort-first character, making it the clear choice for most used buyers.

If you want the best value, look for an ES 350 with the right option package rather than chasing a different trim name. The available safety features can make a meaningful difference, especially if you want lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, or a backup camera.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Lexus ES?

The market looks moderate and selective, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 481 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.56% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 45.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,412, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Lexus ES's resale value?

The current average of $15,562 sits slightly above last year's $15,026.

That upward move suggests the market still sees value in this model year, which can help support resale if you buy well and keep the car in strong condition. The year-round range also shows that pricing has stayed fairly tight, so clean examples should remain easier to move later than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Lexus ES safe?

The 2014 Lexus ES earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The base version has a class-leading 10 airbags, and available safety equipment can include lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and a backup camera. One important caveat is the backup camera behavior: startup messages can block part of the image right when you shift into reverse, which reduces usefulness in the first moments after starting the car.

That means you should pay close attention to whether the safety package you want is actually fitted on the specific car you’re considering, and you should test the backup camera yourself during a viewing.

Should I buy a 2014 Lexus ES or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 45.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.56% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It blends comfort, a responsive drive, and strong ride quality in a refined luxury sedan.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $16,835, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $15,562 average.
• It adds a more engaging driving feel while keeping the same plush, comfort-first mission.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2014 is the smarter starting point because it combines strong owner satisfaction, solid expert praise, and a lower average price. If you’re willing to spend more for a slightly more engaging feel, the 2015 is the better alternative.
