The overview emphasizes a practical hatchback layout, useful cargo space, and a feature set that includes Blue Link telematics, which can add everyday convenience. It also notes that the car’s appeal came from its mix of personality and practicality rather than from any major mechanical complexity in the description provided. For used buyers, that means your biggest long-term ownership risk is likely tied to condition and maintenance history rather than the car’s basic concept.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Hyundai Veloster?

At 57.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if the car has any accident record. Focus closely on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of repair quality, since the model’s distinctive shape makes clean cosmetic condition especially important. It is also worth checking that the cargo area, rear seating area, and interior features all match the seller’s description and show consistent wear.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Hyundai Veloster?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without rushing.

• Deal availability: 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 237 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.78% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $6,917, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Hyundai Veloster's resale value?

The current average of $6,917 sits slightly below last year's $8,116.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on how well you preserve condition and documentation. If you keep the car clean, well maintained, and free of accident history, you are more likely to stand out in a market where shoppers have choices.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Hyundai Veloster or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

You should lean toward the 2014 if you want the Veloster’s distinctive design, practical hatchback utility, and a market that currently offers some pricing relief. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep a close eye on the lower end of the range and be selective about condition, since accident history is common enough that a careful inspection matters.
