How much does the 2014 Hyundai Sonata cost?

Prices have softened 9.83% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,218 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2014 Hyundai Sonata a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers commonly praise its sporty performance, stylish design, and good fuel efficiency, and many also highlight its value for money along with features like heated and power seats and a rearview camera. For you, that makes it a sensible pick if you want a midsize sedan that feels more upscale than its price suggests and still works well as an affordable family car. 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2014 Hyundai Sonata reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to reliability as a strength, with many owners describing the car as dependable and a good long-term value. That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and condition, since long-term ownership risk depends heavily on how well a specific car was cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Hyundai Sonata?

At 54.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body panels, alignment, and signs of uneven wear, since those can reveal past accident issues. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition and maintenance records so you can separate a well-kept example from one that has been neglected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Hyundai Sonata?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective and still find value if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,218 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.83% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $7,380, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $7,380 sits slightly below last year's $8,185.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a lower cost, but it also suggests resale values have eased compared with a year ago. If you plan to sell later, the best protection is buying a clean, well-maintained example at a competitive price so you have less depreciation to absorb. Strong demand for this model year should still help support future resale, especially for cars with good condition and documented care.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.83% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $8,889, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $7,380 average.
• It is a more refined version with a more polished overall feel.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2014 if price and value matter most, especially given the softer market and decent deal availability. If you want a newer, more polished version and can stretch your budget, the 2015 is the better secondary path.
