Used 2014 GMC Acadia for Sale nearHoltsville, NY

How much does the 2014 GMC Acadia cost?

Prices have softened 11.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 778 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare on price and condition.

Is the 2014 GMC Acadia a good car?

Yes — the 2014 GMC Acadia earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its safety, smooth ride, roomy interior, extensive features, and luxury feel, especially for family trips. That lines up with the Acadia’s role as a plush, carlike three-row SUV with a semi-luxury personality and broad trim coverage. For you, that means it makes the most sense if you want a comfortable, upscale-feeling family hauler rather than a stripped-down utility vehicle. 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2014 GMC Acadia reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with especially positive comments about comfort and family use. The expert review also describes it as a pleasant choice for highway driving, which supports the idea that it can be a vehicle you count on for regular use. GM’s 2-year, 24,000-mile maintenance plan adds some early ownership coverage, including scheduled checkups, oil changes, and tire rotation. A few owners mentioned power steering issues, so a careful pre-purchase inspection is still smart if you want to reduce long-term ownership risk.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 GMC Acadia?

At 60.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing has incomplete service records or signs of prior bodywork. Focus on overall condition, because this model’s value depends heavily on how well it has been maintained and whether any past damage was repaired properly. It also makes sense to test the steering and evaluate how the SUV behaves at low speeds and on the highway.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Acadia starts at $35,410 and climbs through 4 trim levels before reaching the loaded Denali. The base SLE-1 misses the front center airbag, while higher trims add more upscale touches and equipment.
• Powertrain: You get one engine, a 3.6-liter V6 with 288 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic and front- or all-wheel drive. The engine is modern with direct injection, but the transmission can feel sluggish and reluctant to kick down.
• Safety package: OnStar with automatic 911 assistance and stolen-vehicle tracking is standard, as is a backup camera. Forward-collision alert and lane-departure warning are optional on the SLT-1 and SLT-2 and standard on the Denali. Blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert are standard only on the SLT-2 and Denali and unavailable elsewhere.
• Infotainment: The infotainment system is fast and easy to use, with a reconfigurable home screen, Bluetooth streaming audio, apps like Pandora, HD radio, USB connectivity, live traffic, weather alerts, and voice recognition. The optional rear-seat flip-down LCD screen and DVD player add family-friendly entertainment.
• Fuel efficiency: In expert testing, it was rated at 16 mpg in the city and averaged close to 23 mpg highway on a long drive.

Which 2014 GMC Acadia trim should I buy?

The 2014 GMC Acadia is offered in 4 trim levels: SLE-1, SLT-1, SLT-2, Denali.

Here's the short version:

• SLE-1: This is the entry point, but it leaves out the front center airbag that becomes standard on the rest of the lineup. It makes sense only if you want the lowest-cost way into the Acadia.
• SLT-1: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more equipment without jumping all the way to Denali pricing. It also opens the door to optional forward-collision alert and lane-departure warning.
• SLT-2: This is the trim to target if you want the most complete safety package short of Denali, since blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert are standard here. It suits you if safety tech matters more than saving a little money.
• Denali: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with standard forward-collision alert and lane-departure warning plus the most upscale presentation. Choose it if you want the most premium Acadia experience.

The safety package is limited on lower trims, so if driver-assistance features matter to you, it’s worth stepping up from the base model.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 GMC Acadia?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without rushing.

• Deal availability: 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 778 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $7,977, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 GMC Acadia's resale value?

The current average of $7,977 sits slightly below last year's $8,977.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim rather than on broad market appreciation. Well-kept examples with strong equipment and clean history should hold up better than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 GMC Acadia safe?

The 2014 GMC Acadia earns top ratings from the government and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Acadia’s safety package includes OnStar with automatic 911 assistance and stolen-vehicle tracking, plus a backup camera. A standout feature is the front center airbag, which is standard on every Acadia except the base SLE-1. Forward-collision alert and lane-departure warning are optional on the SLT-1 and SLT-2 and standard on the Denali, while blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert are standard only on the SLT-2 and Denali. The main caveat is that some of the most useful driver-assistance features are reserved for higher trims.

Should I buy a 2014 GMC Acadia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It stands out as a plush, carlike three-row SUV with smooth, quiet highway manners and capable brakes.

The bottom line: The 2014 Acadia makes sense if you want a comfortable, upscale-feeling three-row SUV and you’re willing to shop carefully for condition and history. If you’re more price-sensitive, the market still offers enough inventory and deal share to make comparison shopping worthwhile, especially if you can find a clean example near the low end of the price range.

How does the 2014 GMC Acadia compare to the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse?

Our experts score the 2014 GMC Acadia 7/10 and the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse 7.7/10.

The Acadia leans more upscale, while the Traverse gives you a lower starting price and a slightly stronger expert score. Both share the same basic formula, but the Acadia’s appeal is its semi-luxury feel and richer presentation. If you want the more affordable route to this kind of three-row utility, the Traverse is the value play; if you want a more polished cabin and are willing to pay a bit more, the Acadia is the nicer-feeling choice.
