How much does the 2014 Ford Fusion cost?

There are 920 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2014 Ford Fusion a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Ford Fusion earns a 4.71/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its sleek design, reliability, high fuel economy, and spaciousness. The overview also points to a midsize sedan that feels polished on the road, with a balance of style, available technology, and relative affordability that helps it stand out. For you, that means it fits especially well if you want a family sedan that feels more upscale and more engaging than many rivals.

There are 26.3% good or great deals in the market, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2014 Ford Fusion reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to reliability, trouble-free ownership, and a car that many drivers feel they can count on over time. The expert drive notes also describe the hybrid powertrain as smooth and seamless in operation, with quick transitions that do not interfere with everyday use. The cost-effectiveness notes add that the Fusion has held its value quite well overall in the used market.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well, since ownership satisfaction does not replace a careful inspection.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Ford Fusion?

At 57.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has any signs of prior bodywork or inconsistent panel fit. Focus on condition details that matter most in daily use: braking feel, interior controls, and how well the tech systems operate. If you want the hybrid, pay extra attention to how smoothly the powertrain transitions and whether the fuel-economy equipment is functioning as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Titanium trim sits above the SE and the new-for-2014 S trim, and it adds a more upscale feel with features such as active park assist, heated and ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, navigation, inflatable rear seatbelts, and the Driver Assistance Package. If you want the most equipment, this is the trim that best shows off the Fusion’s tech-forward personality.
• Powertrain: The Fusion Hybrid pairs a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery, sending power through a CVT. The setup is tuned more for smooth, efficient driving than for outright speed, and the electric-only operation can run at higher speeds than the earlier battery setup.
• Safety package: The Driver Assistance Package includes lane-keep assist and blind-spot alert. Standard safety equipment also includes eight airbags, inflatable rear seatbelts, traction and stability control, adaptive cruise control, and lane keep. The Titanium trim is the one specifically shown with the full package of advanced features.
• Infotainment: The car uses a touchscreen interface with Sync, navigation, and a 12-speaker Sony audio system. The system is feature-rich, but the controls can feel complex, and the touchscreen can be fingerprint-prone.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid was rated at 44 mpg city, 41 mpg highway, and 42 mpg combined after the update described in the expert notes.

Which 2014 Ford Fusion trim should I buy?

The 2014 Ford Fusion is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SE, Titanium.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Fusion’s styling and core driving character at the lowest cost. It is the trim most likely to leave you wanting more equipment if you care about the Fusion’s tech and comfort story.
• SE: This is the trim to target if you want the best balance of value and equipment. It should give you a more satisfying ownership experience than the base trim without pushing you into the highest-priced version.
• Titanium: This is the best choice if you want the most upscale Fusion experience. It adds the richest feature set, including the advanced driver-assistance and convenience equipment highlighted in the test car, so it suits you best if you value comfort and technology over bargain pricing.

The Titanium is the trim most clearly associated with the advanced safety and convenience package, so it is the one to seek out if those features matter most.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Ford Fusion?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 26.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 920 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.98% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $7,576, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Ford Fusion's resale value?

The current average of $7,764 sits slightly below last year's $8,085.

That price movement suggests the Fusion has softened, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you can reduce the impact of that depreciation. The model’s broad appeal, strong owner satisfaction, and reputation for value should still help support demand.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Ford Fusion safe?

The 2014 Ford Fusion earns five-star overall ratings from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and three-star ratings in front-seat side crash tests. It also earns a Good rating from IIHS across all tests.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety equipment list is extensive: eight airbags, inflatable rear seatbelts, traction and stability control, blind-spot alert, 4-wheel disc brakes, adaptive cruise control, lane keep, SOS Post Crash, and 911 Assist. The Driver Assistance Package adds lane-keep assist and blind-spot alert, and the test car also included active park assist. The main caveat is the weaker NHTSA side-crash result, so you should not treat the Fusion’s safety story as flawless even though the overall package is strong.

Should I buy a 2014 Ford Fusion or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 26.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It benefits from being one year removed from a redesign and adds tech to an already-attractive package.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $8,380, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $7,764 average.
• It brings a more distinctive presence and a cleaner, more appealing overall design.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2014 is the smarter starting point because pricing has eased and the car still delivers strong owner satisfaction, useful tech, and broad appeal. If you are willing to pay more for a slightly newer model with a more polished visual impression, the 2015 is the better secondary path for price-insensitive buyers.
