The current average of $15,089 sits slightly below last year's $15,852.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point, but it also suggests resale upside may depend on choosing the right truck. Well-kept examples with desirable trims, strong maintenance records, and clean history should hold value better than higher-mileage or heavily used trucks. Because the market is broad and condition-sensitive, your eventual resale outcome will depend a lot on how carefully you buy now.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.43/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.81% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.43/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $17,691, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $15,089 average.
• It adds aluminum body construction and turbocharged power.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2014 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer-feeling truck and a more modern design direction, the 2015 is the better secondary path for buyers who prioritize those upgrades over upfront savings.
