Used 2014 Chevrolet Impala for Sale nearDurham, NC

How much does the 2014 Chevrolet Impala cost?

Prices have softened 3.97% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 537 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2014 Chevrolet Impala a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Chevrolet Impala earns a 4.85/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its beautiful design, comfort, strong performance, and ride quality. The overview also points to a cabin and feature set that feel more upscale than the badge suggests, along with a large-sedan setup that emphasizes comfort and road manners.

That makes it a strong fit if you want a full-size sedan that feels polished, comfortable, and distinctive rather than purely practical. The market also shows 27.9% good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2014 Chevrolet Impala reliable?

Owners rate it 4.85/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability, and drivers also describe the car as dependable and enjoyable over time. The expert review reinforces that impression by noting the car’s strong overall execution and its ability to deliver a smooth, predictable driving experience.

The cost-effectiveness notes also mention Chevy’s 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, which is a helpful ownership cushion for used buyers. Even so, you should still verify maintenance history and overall condition, since long-term wear matters more as these cars age.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Chevrolet Impala?

At 53.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can check for wear, electronics issues, and signs of deferred maintenance.

Focus especially on how the car was equipped, since lower trims can miss some of the features that make this Impala feel more modern. If you want the best mix of comfort and safety equipment, compare listings carefully before you commit.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS starts with basics like Bluetooth connectivity, OnStar telematics, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat, while the LT adds the MyLink system with an 8-inch touchscreen and Bluetooth streaming audio. The LTZ brings more upscale equipment such as push-button ignition, remote start, heated front seats, a rear-view camera, and additional safety features, so base trims can feel noticeably less equipped.
• Powertrain: The car is offered with a 4-cylinder engine, an eAssist hybrid setup, and a V6. The 4-cylinder emphasizes efficiency, the eAssist setup is tuned for better fuel economy, and the V6 delivers the strongest performance with 305 hp and 264 lb-ft.
• Safety package: The LTZ includes forward-collision alert, a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, a rear-view camera, rear parking sensors, and passive keyless entry. Some of those features are optional on lower trims, so check carefully if safety tech matters to you.
• Infotainment: The MyLink system uses an 8-inch touchscreen and supports Bluetooth streaming audio, voice controls, and smartphone integration. The tech content also points to USB access and a hidden storage compartment, but lower models may lack the touchscreen and Bluetooth features you want.
• Fuel efficiency: The 4-cylinder is rated at 21 mpg city/31 highway, the eAssist setup is suggested at 25/35, and the V6 is rated at 21 mpg city/28 highway.

Which 2014 Chevrolet Impala trim should I buy?

The 2014 Chevrolet Impala is offered in 6 trim levels: LS, LS Eco, LT 1LT, LT 2LT, LT Eco, LTZ 1LTZ, LTZ 2LTZ.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the basics, including Bluetooth, OnStar, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but it leaves out the richer tech and comfort features that make the Impala stand out.
• LS Eco: This trim adds alloy wheels and dual-zone climate control, but its main draw is the eAssist hybrid system. It suits you if fuel economy matters more than extra performance or luxury touches.
• LT 1LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the MyLink infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth streaming audio, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. If you want the most balanced mix of features and price, this is the one to target.
• LT 2LT: This version keeps the LT equipment and adds the V6, so it’s the pick if you want stronger acceleration without jumping all the way to the top trim. It’s a good fit if you care more about power than maximum equipment.
• LT Eco: This trim combines the LT feature set with the eAssist powertrain. Choose it if you want the nicer LT cabin and tech but still want to prioritize efficiency.
• LTZ 1LTZ: This is the most feature-rich choice, with push-button ignition, remote start, heated front seats, a rear-view camera, and more safety equipment. It’s the right pick if you want the most upscale version and are willing to pay for it.
• LTZ 2LTZ: This trim adds the V6 to the LTZ package, giving you the strongest engine with the most upscale equipment. It makes sense if you want top-end comfort and power together.

The LTZ models also bring the most complete safety package, while many of those features are optional on lower trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Chevrolet Impala?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 537 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.97% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 53.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,721, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Chevrolet Impala's resale value?

The current average of $10,040 sits slightly below last year's $10,456.

That tells you the market has softened, which can work against future sellers if the trend continues. If you buy now, you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment level rather than on broad market momentum alone.

Well-kept examples with desirable features should hold up better than stripped or heavily worn ones. Strong presentation and a clean history matter more when the market is already showing some price pressure.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.85/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Chevrolet Impala safe?

The 2014 Chevrolet Impala earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Good rating from IIHS in the moderate front overlap crash test.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety content points to 10 airbags, 4-wheel antilock disc brakes, and electronic stability control as standard equipment. It also highlights OnStar with automatic crash response and roadside assistance, plus available or standard driver-assistance features such as forward-collision alert, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, a rear-view camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, and passive keyless entry.

The LTZ models get the fullest safety package, while some of those features are optional on lower trims. That means you should pay close attention to trim level if safety tech is a priority.

Should I buy a 2014 Chevrolet Impala or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.97% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.85/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It was reborn with standout styling, a strong ride-and-handling package, and up to 35 mpg highway.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $10,842, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $10,040 average.
• It adds a bit more space and trunk room.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2014 is the smarter starting point because it combines lower pricing with strong owner satisfaction and a well-regarded feature set. If you’re willing to pay more for a slightly roomier follow-up model, the 2015 is the secondary path to consider.
