Is the 2014 BMW 7 Series a good car?

Generally — the 4.4/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the powerful performance, comfortable ride, luxurious features, smooth handling, and sound system, and the 7 Series’ role as BMW’s flagship sedan fits buyers who want a full-size luxury car with a refined feel and a sporting edge. The overview also highlights its advanced technology and broad powertrain choices, which add to its appeal if you want a premium sedan with real mechanical variety. With 29.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s a meaningful share of attractive pricing in the market.

Is the 2014 BMW 7 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a car that can be dependable in the ways luxury buyers care about most, with praise for its comfortable ride, smooth handling, and overall refinement. At the same time, the same feedback flags high repair costs for certain models and concerns about excessive mileage on used examples, so long-term ownership risk is tied more to condition and maintenance history than to the badge alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 BMW 7 Series?

At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body condition, signs of past collision work, and evidence of deferred maintenance, since repair costs can be high on some examples. It also makes sense to focus on mileage and overall wear, because used listings may come with excessive mileage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 BMW 7 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value if you move on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

What is the 2014 BMW 7 Series's resale value?

The current average of $12,480 sits slightly below last year's $13,837.

That decline suggests the market has already absorbed a fair amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if prices stabilize from here. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you may be better positioned to limit further value loss. The model’s strong owner satisfaction also helps support demand among shoppers looking for a large luxury sedan with a polished driving experience.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 BMW 7 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.81% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2014 if you want the strongest mix of current pricing, owner satisfaction, and available inventory in this group. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may still be worth comparing, but the 2014 already gives you a compelling entry point if you find a clean, well-documented example.
