The 2014 Audi Q5 stands out as a premium midsize SUV that blends luxury, practicality, and standard all-wheel drive. By this point in the first generation, it had a roomy and beautifully built interior, a real feeling of solidity and smoothness, and the kind of upscale presentation that helped define the model’s appeal. It also came well equipped for the class, with features such as interior wood inlays, electrically adjustable front seats, sliding rear seats, power-adjustable door mirrors, leather upholstery, LED taillights, and three-zone climate control.
What makes the 2014 model especially distinctive is the breadth of its powertrain and trim offerings. The first-generation Q5 had already expanded beyond its original 3.2-liter V6, and by 2014 it was part of a range that included the 2.0T, the 3.0-liter supercharged V6, the Q5 Hybrid, the Q5 TDI, and the SQ5. The 2.0T had been increased to 220 horsepower in 2013, while the SQ5 brought a 354-horsepower supercharged 3.0-liter V6 and an eight-speed automatic transmission. That mix gave buyers a choice between efficiency, diesel torque, hybrid capability, and stronger performance, all wrapped in the same upscale package.
There are tradeoffs, though. The Q5’s strengths are comfort, quality, and equipment rather than excitement, and some owners have reported issues such as excessive oil consumption, failing timing chains, rattling or leaking panoramic sunroofs, and noisy suspension caused by failing control arms. Even so, the 2014 Audi Q5 remains appealing because it delivers a polished luxury-SUV experience with a strong feature set and a broad range of versions to suit different priorities.

Great value and fun to drive. This car is very fun to drive it handles well in town and on the highway. It gets great gas mileage being a 4cyl. But the turbo charged 2.0 provides plenty of torque and power to get up and go when needed.

This car has an insane amount of features. It drives so well it could turn on a dime. I had a Lexus RX400h prior to this car and while I loved that car it was very bulky and heavy so it was harder to stop and didnt turn nearly as tight as the Audi. The Audis MMI features are great, the way that it is laid out with the all of the media controls being on the steering wheel and right next to the gear shift makes it so easy to use without taking your eyes off the road. It also allows you to see your GPS route, media, and telephone on the dashboard in the middle of your RPMS and MPHs which makes it super simple to use. You can also insert two SD cards at once and import your media onto the cars hard drive which is great. The car sounds amazing when accelerating and has some ok power behind it. The manual automatic shifting is fun to use and allows you to accelerate way faster IMO but it is somewhat pointless other than to have some fun!
