Fun performance car. Only complaint I have is that Dodge didnt build these things with stronger rear axles. Even in stock form, if slicks are used, then you can break a stock axle at the track! Annoying, as I bought this car to upgrade. Build quality is pretty good. A few too many rattles for my taste, but this was built right at the time of all of Chryslers troubles, so I cant complain too much. Powertrain wise its been flawless. Best looking car Dodge has designed in at least 10 years in my opinion. Actually gets pretty good mileage with the 6 speed. 23 mpg on the freeway average. Quite fun to bang through the gears. Reminds me of older Mopar muscle in sound and feel in many ways.

My wife and I love the body style. I'm actually a Camaro guy, but Chevy ruined it with the contemporary boxy look. Mustangs are nice, but the first time I saw the recent Challenger, I knew it was my next car. It's powerful, and you don't have to worry about getting up to speed when you are trying to pass or get on the freeway. The black on this car is super shiny and everytime I wax it- 3M handpaste only- it gets more and more brilliant with almost a mirror finish. If I end up keeping the car, I will put different tires on it since I prefer chrome. The main reason I'm selling it is because it was an impulsive purchase and not on my list of things to do right now.

I like that it will put your head back in the seat and all the power it has. I don't like that the paint job was to good. It is a fun car to drive. Hope yall enjoy the car.

Overview

The Dodge Challenger combines modern performance with classic muscle-car looks. In its first seven years of production, the peak performance variant was the SRT8. Powered by a robust Hemi V8 engine, the SRT8 delivers strong acceleration and a mighty roar from its exhaust. The SRT8 provides many performance upgrades, including a sport-tuned suspension, Brembo brakes, 20-inch wheels, bi-xenon headlights, and leather bucket sport seats. The SRT8 was updated in 2011 with some minor visual tweaks and a new 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine. There are also a number of special editions, options packages, and appearance options, such as racing stripes and unique colors.

Key Features

  • 6.1-liter HEMI V8 engine (upgraded to 6.4-liter in 2011)
  • Sport-tuned suspension
  • Brembo performance brakes
  • Large cabin, spacious trunk
  • Unique colors, appearance packages
  • Six-way power-adjustable driver's seat

Pricing Details

In 2014, Dodge sold the Challenger SRT8 RWD trim with an MSRP of $44,685. Used examples on CarGurus range from $12,489.00 to $59,998.00 with an average price of $23,834.44. Available options include rear parking sensors, satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity, a power sunroof, upgraded wheels, and performance tires. There is an available touch-screen infotainment system, but it is ancient by today’s standards.
