(6 reviews)My Tiguan has the 4Motion AWD system, which provides excellent traction in all weather conditions. Stock, it drives quite well, with good acceleration and excellent braking and cornering. It's a very solid-feeling German car, typical of my experiences with VW in the recent past. I have added to it the APR Stage I reprogramming, which made the car CONSIDERABLY more fun to drive, reportedly adding close to 50 bhp and gobs of torque; it's a rocket SUV. In just under 12 months of ownership I've got almost 33,000 miles behind the wheel, and I still love this car. Tows my popup like a champ, drives like a sporty sedan, dusts a lot of ricer cars, and looks cool on the road. A winner!
Fun to drive. But not near enough cargo space for a family of three with a big dog. I often find that I can't even fit all my groceries in the trunk. Gas mileage is so-so. Requires premium gas. Nice that VW recommends changing oil only every 10k miles. But requires full-synthetic oil which is expensive. VW customer service is very good.
Just got it last November and really love it so far. Doesn't handle like a little SUV, the harder you push through a corner, the better! It's very well built, love the HUGE, PANORAMIC sunroof and the fact that I can fit the bikes in the back! It's fantastically quiet with the windows down too!
Our Tiguan was meant to be a family vehicle, purchased while my wife was pregnant with our son. As it was only the second vehicle to be purchased/leased in Central Florida, we knew more about it than the dealership. Scary. When the Mini Countryman came out, we drove the S version and were sold. We traded the Tiguan and have never regretted it. The fuel economy is way better, the looks are awesome, and rowing gears with a proper manual makes all the difference in the world. I forgot to mention that we can spin the tires readily now.
i love the options that come standard and the car handles well, big enough to feel safe yet small enough to park anywhere, turbo gives it a nice zip and gas mileage isnt terrible, und es ist ein Auto Deutsch!
