It started by them advertising a truck way underpriced that I fell in love with. I checked the car fax and everything looked good. I called and asked if the truck was available. They said yes and asked when I would be able to come in and see it. I explained to them that I live 4 hours away and I would be going in the next day. Knowing the process would take long, I booked a hotel to stay in LA for the weekend. They called me later that day and said the truck had sold but they had another one on the lot that was similar. He said the price was 25,000. I told him that is over my budget since I was only approved for 26,500 and fees would push it over. He said “oh that’s no problem, come right in and we will make it work.” Well even though the deal was not as good, I went anyway on that promise that I would leave with that truck without going over my limit. When I showed up, I liked the truck, but seen the sticker price said about 28,000. I told the sales guy that I had loved the other truck they sold and he stated “oh the one from a while back”. So obviously the truck had been sold a while back and they told me they had sold it the day before. When we sat down to do the paperwork, the manager said the best thing he could do is 29,500 out the door. I told them that I had spoken to his employee and he said he would make my limit of 26,500 work. He stated that he was going to lose money so he couldn’t do it. Although I do understand that he can’t lose money, I was not demanding that price, I only went because I was promised that they would make it work. And 29,500 is nowhere near 26,500. So they are ok with me losing money on gas, time = 8 hours of driving, and a hotel. This could have been avoided by them not promising to make my limit work. By the way the first truck they had “Sold Yesterday” the same one from “a while back,” Is still posted on their website and has been there for 126 days. "
