Overview
The 2007 Saturn VUE SUV has updated its lineup with the aptly named Green Line Hybrid. This new model uses a 2.4 L, 170 hp Ecotec inline-4 engine and seats 5. It uses gasoline when the car moves, then switches primarily to electric power when the driver brakes. Saturn has given the new hybrid a similar appearance to the other trims.
In addition, the Green Line has improved on the traditional VUE's fuel consumption by almost 20% and lets you know with a gauge that flashes the word Eco when fuel economy exceeds the EPA average. The other gasoline-powered trims remain relatively unchanged. Gas mileage still runs from around 20 mpg in the city to 28 mpg on the highway. Saturn has modernized the interior and added standard remote keyless entry to all trims.
Overall, reviewers appreciate the almost seamless transition from the gas-powered VUE to the environment friendly Green Line. Solid handling on all trims makes it hard to tell them apart. The VUE's evolution shows how Saturn has placed a premium on function while slowly developing the form. For all the hype about the new hybrid, the new Saturn VUE chooses not to toot its own horn until you step in and drive.

Our first new Saturn, our white 2007 VUE is everything we need and more. My wife and I chose the VUE as the compromise between a Saturn Relay van and an AURA sedan. It turned out being an excellent choice. She mostly drives it to work, however, it's the vehicle of choice for out-of-town trips. It has plenty of rear seat leg room and has plenty of space in the back for all our gear and luggage. We have not used it for transporting extra large loads (yet!). Currently at 14,000 miles, we've had it for exactly one year today and are very happy owners. What do we love about our '07 Saturn VUE? First of all, it's a very roomy compact SUV. We own the 2.2 liter four cylinder model with automatic transmission. Gas mileage is at 22-city and 27-highway. We also enjoy the neat pop-up container in the wagon area that holds groceries, the cold air conditioner (needed in South Texas), the composite body panels (last model year with these), the OnStar system, the standard amenities (power everything, a CD/MP3 player, cruise control), and that it's made in the good ol' USA. The only thing we don't like about it is that the audio system is satellite radio ready, and it has been hard (and expensive) to get the necessary components to get satellite radio through the factory audio system. Had I known satellite radio was going to be offered as standard equipment in the '08 VUE, I just might have waited a few months to buy. However, we got our '07 VUE with a 0% financing; that was the clincher. The other thing I'm not comfortable with is the engine and transmission combination; at times the VUE feels rather underpowered under full throttle. However, we can live with that in the name of excellent fuel economy in these days of $4.00/gallon gasoline.

I love this car. The sound system is good. The fuel economy is great and it has a lot of power to it. It is really nice looking and very nice on the inside. Big enough for a family of five.

Most Saturn are very dependable but the hybrid model is a risk
