Overview
The 2004 Saturn VUE SUV made several improvements to form and function from the previous year. First, Saturn upgraded the V6 trims from the 181 hp, 3.0 L to a more powerful 250 hp, 3.5 L. In addition, the VUE introduced the Red Line version with improved steering, handling, suspension, and a more monochromatic exterior. Saturn has continued to use corrosion and dent-resistant polymer in building a safe and durable body for its product.
Otherwise, the 2004 Saturn VUE SUV keeps things simple for budget-conscious consumers. Fuel consumption for all models remains around 20 mpg city/28 mpg highway. The VUE seats 5 and its interior leaves plenty of room to spare. Options include power sunroof, an Onstar telecom system, and XM satellite radio.
Overall, the 2004 Saturn VUE SUV represented a landmark moment where the consumer spoke and the company listened. Saturn added power and finesse to a strong foundation. In addition, the 2004 VUE reduced the engine noise that detracted from its predecessors. As a result, the 2004 Saturn VUE SUV has set a high standard as it broadens its appeal to a diverse market.

I really don't have any complaints. This is a pretty well built car. The acceleration, braking are pretty good. It does what I need it to do. The handling is to be expected from an SUV. It's top-heavy for a really light SUV. It weighs 3260 lbs. My friends 1998 Hyundai Accent weighs 3163 lbs. Im rough on cars. This car can take a beating like no other. I've hit cars, and received no damage. The only dent i have is when a garage door fell on my car. but the dent is about 3 inches, at most. The scratch and dent resistant side panels are the best things invented. The only repairs I've done to the car are: replace a wheel baring, replace the transmission and clutch, and the windshield wiper system (fuse, relay and switch). Also , this is a relatively inexpensive car to own. I've owned the car for 2.5 years and the repair cost is less then $1500. I don't pay out the ass for gas either. $40 to fill and i can go 400 miles on a single tank, if I drive like a human. If not my tank lasts about 330 miles. All in all, I love this car.

It's ok for getting around, but not well built. The suspension makes a lot of noise and the electric steering is not very good. Parts that should last 100K+ miles have been replaced at 40-60K. They used a great Honda engine and transmission, but they put such small lubricant reservoirs they are both "starving for oil/fluid" requiring more frequent maintenance. The brakes tend to warp the small rotors after about 15-20K miles. The interior is nice leather and no problems with it or the electronics so far. Lots of space for a small SUV so we can hall the kiddo, friends and stuff comfortably. Unfortunately, this is probably the last American engineered car we'll buy since our previous 3 or 4 had a lot of problems as well. It's a decent automobile, but when you drive over bumps in a car with only 40K miles it shouldn't sound like it is falling apart. Saturn used to have their "own models", but now GM is making it just like all the rest of their brands. The Vue is also the Chevy Equinox and Pontiac Torrent with just a different face.

The 2004 six cylinder Saturn Vue All Wheel Drive is a joy to drive. Its a wonderful car with pleasant touches. AWD feature is great during times of inclement weather. The utility of the Saturn Vue is probably its best feature combined with its gas mileage.

This car is comfy, has leather seats, and is bright blue, a really pretty blue if you ask me. The handling is good in terms of SUV handling, and the AWD is a must for winter driving. Sixteen-inch alloy wheels are durable. The problem is the strut suspension... it tends to squeak in warm conditions.
