This is one of those cars that looks good on the spec sheet or even just parked. However, out on the road it disapoints. Sport suspension, large disc brakes, a big 2.4L VVT DOHC 4 cly with high compression do not translate into a fun ride. One of the big problems is the 4 speed automatic, it's just not happy pairing to this engine. In fact, it's an unhappy one. You can hear this by the way the two sound--a whinny, lethatrgic moan is emitted most of the time. It proclaims, "I am not having fun here!" The thrust is okay when you floor it off the line--but theres not alot there when you moving and you get on it. Unless it does some high rpm downshift to a much lower gear it will just provide modest accleration. The gas mileage is decent in the city. Not great but not bad either. As with most cars, on the highway its very good. Then theres the ride quality or lack there of. In the name of high shid pad g number it sacfifices alot of ride compliance. Instead of absorbing road irregularities it just crashes over them. I feel that the spring rates are just to hard. The steering is another let down. It's an electric setup which is done to save a very smalll amount of mileage and is becoming very common. That's fine by itself but the problem is the feel. It's a bit too heavy, vague and very artifiical feeling. Like your playing some arcade game. Despite my misgivings with the suspension and steering you can corner quite fast--which might be the only smile this car ever gives you. Other then that, it is well built car that has a solid feel to it. The brakes inspire a fair amount of confidence and has a very firm brake pedal.

My girlfriend is using it. So far, trouble free car. Very low cost maintenance, no warranty issues at all. Has 46k. Car drives well and is fully loaded: Leather, heated seats, Panasonic factory subwoofer, XM radio, fog lights, ABS, traction ctrl, automatic headlights, polished alloy wheels, chrome tail pipe, chrome ext moulding and handles, wood trims, information computer, cruise, leather wrapped steering wheel with audio-cruise functions, mp3 jack, spoiler. All is OEM components. LTZ is a very rare trim level. Almost a Cimarron ;)

The 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt SS SC is a quick, stylish little sports car. Maybe not suited for an older demographic, but sure tailored for the interests of the younger drivers, speaking as one of them! The 2.0L DOHC ECOTEC four-cylinder engine comes with an Eaton Supercharger providing an extra boost with a great transition when it kicks in unlike the lag of a turbocharger. The Cobalt is quick, and the clutch and short-throw shifter have a very smooth, close-coupled action with well-spaced gears. With a very wide torque band, excessive shifting is certainly not necessary, and there is little need to get up into fifth except on the highways. Handling is superb on the Cobalt with stiffer springs, tuned shocks and a larger anti-roll bar, allowing it to focus on the sharp turns without either the front or rear wheels going wide! The performance on this car is great but still could be improved with Chevy definitely leaving room open for modifications. The exterior is simple, yet very sleek and with the addition of the huge rear spoiler wing, surely does not make this car look boring! Riding on 18" Pirelli PZero Rosso performance tires and high polished alloy wheels gives the Cobalt a good grip on the road with the added style. On the inside, the Cobalt is fitted together fairly well! There's plenty of leg room up front, however the rear seating is cramped. But I don't sit in the back so who cares! Even so, all seats are very comfortable! The nicely designed Recaro bucket seats hold the driver and passenger in place on sharp turns and are comfortable enough for long treks. As for the controls, luckily Chevrolet improved the Cobalt by giving the 2007 version a redesigned center console, which provided a better setup and look. The steering wheel was also redone to give a more comfortable feel when driving. The SS comes with a 7-speaker premium Pioneer sound system with amplified tweeters and rear subwoofer, that delivers awesome quality and sound when listening to music! A lot of trunk space for a small car, but small opening. Rounding off the interior, Chevrolet gave the SS a nice little touch by including a boost gauge! With reasonable fuel economy and being well priced the Cobalt SS SC certainly provides a lot of enjoyment behind the wheel!
