Used 2003 Dodge Neon SRT-4 for Sale near Michigan
Neons were always fast subcompact cars, but the second-fastest Dodge ever, second to the Viper? Are you sure we're talking about a Neon here? In 2003, an affordable street racer entered the market with the 2003 Neon SRT-4, a turbocharged 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder, twin-cam engine that hit 215-hp and never looked back.
The 2003 SRT-4 took the Neon R/T one step further, with sports-tuned suspension, standard ABS brakes, 17-inch wheels, and all the sporty accoutrements you'd expect -- hood scoop, huge rear spoiler, racing-style supportive front seats, leather interior trim, chrome-trimmed dash gauges, and silver badging. With 245 lb-ft of torque, the SRT-4 was not only fast, but very easy to control at high speeds and on curvy roads. The ride was smooth, with very little jolt when the turbo kicked in. Great muscle engine noise and aftermarket tuning parts put the SRT-4 in the top of its class.
The 2003 SRT-4 didn't lose much of what made Neon popular, namely roominess. There was still a full-size trunk, and plenty of leg and headroom for four inside, along with storage and cupholders. Although fast, it was still family-oriented and offered a lot of safety features beyond ABS and traction control. Unfortunately, like the Neon, it did not offer a lot of extras, most maddeningly, no power rear windows.
What do drivers love about this car? Guess. At 0-60 in 5.8 seconds, it's not only faster than any subcompact out there, but probably most cars on the market, and it's affordable. Drawbacks are uncomfortable front seats, a stiff suspension that gives a jolting ride on bumpy roads and a low front that can scrape the ground.

(33 reviews)Best bang for the buck. At 20k BRAND new you get a 225hp vehicle. So far so good on the car only had very minor issues with one wire connector which was replaced under warranty. I love the looks of the car and even at close to 500 HP the car still can get 29MPG on the highway when you keep your foot off the gas. It's so fun to drive the car because of the power it makes and supprises anyone that steps up to it. It can scare you with the torque steer when you get on it but just hold on and enjoy the ride!
I have been very happy with this vehicle, I have 90k miles on it and not had ANY mechanical problems with the motor, and no reliability issues. The only problem is the vehicle is too powerful for the stock transmission, I have had to replace parts a few times, excellent acceleration, excellent handling, excellent braking. This vehicle also takes very well to being modified....eats it up!
Performance - great acceleration, amazing braking, handling was ok Build Quality - bought it from auction =P lol, no squeaks/rattles Appearance - outside was nice, inside was too cheaply done Cost - around 21 city 27 highway, nothing unneeded Fun Factor - HELL YA
This is a great car with lots of room for upgrades. The turbo spools fast and pulls hard all the way through the gears
Performance - When modified this car performs quit well, acceleration is good, traction is bad but what would you expect from a Front Wheel Drive car? Braking is poor and handling is good once modified. Build Quality - Dodge advertised this car as "Fastest Car for Under $20k" so don't expect much here. Its a cheap car, built on a budget to keep costs down, this makes the car extremely noisy (road noise and squeaks). Appearance - I personally like the exterior styling with the exception of the spoiler. Cost of Ownership - Once modified you can kiss gas mileage goodbye and the gas tank is VERY small, so you will have to fill up quit often. Maintenance and Repairs are fairly inexpensive (except replacing the clutch). Fun Factor - is this car fun to drive? I would definitely say YES. that's probably the only reason i still own it.
