About 1996 Chevrolet Corvette
Overview

The 1996 Corvette was the last of the C4s. Although it was the last year of its generation, the '96 car had an optional new 350ci small-block RPO engine that was rated at 330 horsepower - the LT4. The LT4 was available only with the manual.
A Collector's Edition was available in Sebring Silver; it came in Coupe or Convertible form and with the LT1 or LT4 engine. The '96 Grand Sport in blue with white stripes was limited to 1,000 copies and came only with the LT4 engine.
The LT1 is nice, but for real speed, the CE LT4, with the manual gear box and 330+ horses, is the real deal!

LT4 motor - 345hp, 340ft-lb torque . 0-60 4.8 secs, 170 mph IN 1996!! You can pick up a late C4 for 10k plus now. LT4's are a little more but is still the best bang for buck out there. Brutal acceleration, tons of torque, corners on rails and not a bad interior for a GM car. Doesn't like bumpy road surfaces. Unmistakable V8 sound and road presence. The first 'modern' corvette.

This car has been one of the best cars I have owned. It is tough to get in and out of being 6'3", but once you are in it is a magnificent vehicle. The maintenance is minimal - oil and lube, and not much else. The tires are staggered sizes and directional, so there is no rotating. The dash looks like a fighter jet cockpit. It is much more attractive IMO then the newer Corvette dashes which have become large and more plastic in appearance. Both front seats are 8 way power and are very comfy. all in all compared to it's peers of other sports cars, this car offers much in the way of styling, performance and comfort, as well as reliability which is a bonus that others cannot always boast! I highly recommend this vehicle.

This car is just pure automotive excellence. It is what everyone on earth should drive; a fairly cheap car that has a good amount of power along with a lightweight cassis, oh and it must be RWD. If you ever get bored with a vette you are not a car guy, just a tool.
