Used Lexus LS for Sale near Fort Pierce, FL
In 1993, the Lexus LS 400 underwent the first significant revisions since its arrival in 1990. Larger brakes and tires were capped with new alloy wheels, and the exterior styling and trim received a slight facelift. The most noticeable exterior changes were different side moldings and a new grille. A passenger airbag and CFC-free air conditioning system were also new. After enduring years of critical feedback regarding bland road manners, Lexus responded with suspension and power steering adjustments aimed to bolster the LS 400's performance.
The same 4.0 liter V-8 returned in 1993. This 32-valve DOHC engine provided the LS with 250 horsepower and 260 pound feet of torque. The 0-60 mph time still remained around eight seconds, and the quarter mile was reached in 16. Improved brakes steadily slowed the LS from 60 mph to a stop in just 120 feet. Many drivers and road testers did still not regard the LS as fun to drive, despite more responsive steering and the new option of a more road-aware suspension. The LS 400 remained a smooth and steady cruiser, just as it was designed to be. "Riding on a cloud" metaphors were frequently employed to describe the car's relationship with the road.
Base price (and resale value) continued to gradually rise, but value in class still remained unquestioned. Many felt that the 18/23 mpg fuel efficiency was low, but certainly understandable for such a large and powerful sedan. By now, locating and buying parts for the first generation LS has become a bit of a struggle.

(8 reviews)"Why the heck did you sell your Mercedes for a Toyota," many people asked as I was now driving a Lexus LS400. However, it was the best automotive decision I ever made. Performance: This is considered a full-size sedan, yet they all come with a 250hp engine. For its size, I am very impressed with its acceleration, whether it be from 0, or when passing on the highway. Heck, there is even a button that says "PWR," which is a "power enhancer." What it really does is hold out the transmission shifts for more spirited driving. Braking is good, but it goes through brake pads quickly as it is a heavy car. Handling is in between a full size Cadillac and BMW; it is not nearly as boat-like as a Cadillac, but it is definitely not as nimble or sporty as a BMW. Build Quality - This is probably the best part about the vehicle. It is such a phenomenally reliable vehicle! As long as you stay on top of maintenance, expect 500,000 miles. The fit and finish is superb, too. Everything feels solid and there are no odd sounds when traveling, even north of 100mph. Appearance - It is definitely not really a "head-turner," but those who do a double take know the awesome qualities of the LS. "Handsome sedan" is probably the most accurate description for the car. Cost of Ownership - A super nice 90's LS400 can be had for well under 10k. Be sure to get one that has had its timing belt and water pump replaced as those are notorious for being problematic for the LS. But that's it! Other than that, making sure it has regular oil changes and not driving it like a Mustang will make it last a long time. I will say gas mileage is all over the place - I have gotten as much as 26mpg on the highway, and as low as 10mpg in the city. It just depends on how you drive it. Overall, to me, it's the complete package . V8 fun - Classy when needed - Hugely reliable - Cheap to purchase and holds value.
This car handles great for it's size and can accelerate like a bat out a' hell. this is mainly do to its 4.0 liter V8 and smooth luxury car susspension. built like a champ these cars are known for their reliability and quality. looks are good and clean. the only draw back is it's 16/20 mpg making it cost around $100 to fill up its 22.5 gl tank. this car is great and is lots of fun to drive. It was well worth it's $52,000 MSRP new and is a blast to own.
I love this car! I hate the gas mileage but, other than that it runs beautifully. It is powerful and comfortable. It is reliable and I love driving it. I am working on learning how to work on-fix this car so I can keep it as long as possible.
